Transport & Logistics Industry Skills Council - Annual Business Plan 2009/10 41 Key Stakeholder Engagement Plan The Key Stakeholder Engagement Plan forms a critical element in the Skills Council dialogue and communication with its key stakeholders. The Plan seeks to strategically engage with a broad and diverse range of contributors to the national system including those from industry and the broader community. Engagement with key stakeholders is primarily made through a range of including, but not limited to: Face to face meetings Sector and technical group engagement IT and paper based communication initiatives Phone Email Bulk database emails Industry forums Ministerial functions Formal presentations Delegations Stakeholder engagement is highly targeted and driven through a focus on outcomes that move the organisation toward meeting its business/DEEWR KPIs. The engagement process forms an ideal platform through which the Skills Council promotes and disseminates information on government initiatives where they relate to the national training system and workforce capability development. Whilst sometimes seen as less tangible a key effect of the engagement strategy is to maintain clear and accurate communications with key personnel and to maximise their engagement with the national VET system. Key stakeholder engagement is viewed as a critical and instrumental aspect of the Skills Council activity and one that encourages considerable buy-in, and tangible contribution, to the VET system from industry, RTOs, industry groups and associations.

Stakeholder engagement is highly targeted and driven through a focus on outcomes that move the organisation toward meeting its business/DEEWR KPIs.
