Thanks to the dedication of one of the HCA’smost loyal supporters – Arthur Mooradian, theguests were treated to a spectacular event for the

HOUSTONThe Natural Science Museum has a lot of stuff. There arepermanent collections of minerals, natural historyexhibits, a planetarium with laser shows and an Imaxtheater, a butterfly habitat, a paleontology exhibit withdinosaurs,and a new chemistry hall. This place is verycrowded, especially on weekends, and you should callin advance for reservations for the Imax, planetariumand butterfly exhibit.
The Cockrell ButterflyCenter at the HoustonMuseum of NaturalScience is a stunning,living exhibit thatshowcases hundreds oflive butterflies in a
naturalistic rainforest setting. The central conservatoryis a dramatic three-story glass cone filled with tropicalplants and exotic butterflies. During a typical visit, onecan expect to see 50 to 60 different species of the world’slargest and most colorful butterfly species, flyingthrough the balmy air, hovering over flowers or sippingfruit juice – and occasionally, landing on visitors!
Downtown Aquarium Sea creatures of every shape andsize are on view at the Downtown Aquarium. TheSunken Temple exhibit reveals the wonders of ancientMayan culture and the underwater world, while ajourney on the Shark Voyage gives you an intimate viewof the ocean's most infamous predators. A great placefor family fun, the aquarium also features outdoorattractions such as the 100-foot Diving Bell FerrisWheel and the Dancing Fountains. Drink and dine atthe Aquarium Restaurant or the Dive Lounge. Andwhile there, make sure to check out the new whitetigers exhibit.
Space Center Houston is the visitor center for NASA'sJohnson Space Center. It's the product of the joint effortsof NASA and DisneyImagineering. HCA WINTER WONDERLANDIN THE WOODLANDS
On December 9th thanks to the incredible effort of ConnieDeguerre with the Woodlands Chamber of Commerce theHouston Concierge Association enjoyed a truly magicalevening. The event began with a social at the beautifulBell Tower on 34th, where Chuy Terrazas gave us tours ofthe facility and had a wine
reception. The group then boarded the limo bus providedby Merlo’s and headed up I-45 to our first stop – GoosesAcres. There we enjoyed cocktails appetizers and themusic and ambience before heading over to the Ice Rinkwhere we hit (literally) the ice. After skating it was off to
Tesar’s. the critically acclaimedrestaurant of Chef John Tesar and his wife Tracy. Thegroup feasted on melt in your mouth appetizers at thiswonderful restaurant. The HCA would like to give aspecial thanks to Connie for such an enchanting evening.We also wish to thank, Chuy, the Bell Tower, Merlo’s,

On December 5th the HCA held its second annual trip toGalveston for Dickens on the Strand. The group metdowntown and boarded a beautiful limo bus provided courtesyof “Super Member” Mike Prisco of Merlo’s Limousines andCharters for the ride to the island. There thanks to the hardwork of one of our most cherishedand dedicated members-Marilyn
Ortiz DeSimone of the Aquarium we were greeted with aprivate room at the beautifully decorated San Luis Resort fortheir lavish Sunday Brunch. Our host Phillet , dressed in fullDickens era attire along with GM Paul Schultz made sure
everything was beyond perfect. Wewere joined by Galveston Historical Foundation ExecutiveDirector, Dwayne Jones who addressed the group andgraciously provided us with tickets to the Festival. The weath-er complied and the entire association had a wonderful timeand we are already looking forward to next year. The HCAwould like to thank Marilyn, Lauraleigh Gorley-Vogel with
