I am excited about my new role but very sad to be saying goodbye to a wonderful school. Monbulk Primary School will always be very special to me as it was my first Principal position. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and I know that I have made a difference in the life of the school. I am very proud of what I have accomplished and I feel that the legacy I leave is School Improvement’. It is with mixed emotions that I write this last Principal report for the Monny Mag. I am excited about my new role but very sad to be saying goodbye to a wonderful school. Monbulk Primary School will always be very special to me as it was my first Principal position. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and I know that I have made a difference in the life of the school. I am very proud of what I have accomplished and I feel that the legacy I leave is ‘School Improvement’. Over the past five years the following has been achieved under my leadership: Finances: Outsourced Out of School Care- saving $30,000 Changed cleaning contractors- saving $20,000 Grants over $90,000 Introduced Qkr Introduced eftpos/credit card facility

Anne is retiring and looking forward to spending time with family and friends. We would like to thank Anne for her dedication and commitment to the education of many children. We have been so enriched having Anne in our lives. We would like to thank Jess for teaching the students Japanese this year and wish her the very best in the future. Year 6 Graduation We were so proud of the Year 6 students last night at the Graduation as they were honoured for all the work they have accomplished over their years at Monbulk Primary School. Their song and dance was so well performed and with lots of enthusiasm. Congratulations to Emma, Charlie, Max, Coops and Sami for achieving awards for being outstanding students. Thankyou to Miss Russell, Mr Porter and Mrs Smith for being such dedicated and committed teachers and for also organizing such a fantastic night. Thankyou to the Monbulk Primary School Staff I would like to personally thank every staff member at Monbulk Primary School for being such amazing people to work with. You all work extremely hard and genuinely put the children first. I will miss you all and wish you much success in the future! Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Lynn Ordish

Bottle Tops

The art room is collecting bottle tops. Any sort, water bottle, juice bottle, milk bottle. Mrs Clarkson has great plans for a work of art. Your donation can be dropped into the Art Room.

FREE to a Good Home The School will be receiving new furniture on the 14th of December 2018. Any re-dundant furniture from our classrooms will be left under cover between Mrs Lamports Classroom and the Quicksmart room. Please help yourself if you would like to take any of the items. Any remaining furniture will be disposed of.

LOST TEDDY BEAR

If anyone has found a white teddybear wearing a red bow, could you please hand it into the school office, it’s owner is very worried about it. (Picture is not the actual missing teddy)

LOST PROPERTY

The lost property basket is very full. And there are a few items at the office,

watches, reading glasses, soft toys.

Any unnamed items that are not collected by Thursday 20th of December will be

sent to the Op Shop.

FOREST EDGE CAMP Last week the grades 3 & 4 had a fantastic and adventurous time at Forest Edge Camp. The 3/4 teachers would like to thank Stephen Hamilton, Rod Salan, Joost Bakker, Daniel Lacey, Di Daly and Sherree Creek for all their support and assistance over the three days.

Monbulk Community Carols CHANGE OF VENUE DUE TO WEATHER Friday 14th December at 7pm St Pauls Catholic Church, Moores Rd, Monbulk Join us at St Pauls Catholic Church, Moores Rd, Monbulk Come and celebrate Christmas together by singing your favorite carols. The Monbulk and District Rotary Club will provide food from 6pm. All proceeds of the collecyion taken during the eening will go to the Act for Peace Appeal. We acknowledge Aboriginal nations as the first people of Australia. We thank them for their custodianship of this Land and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We invite everyone to join in the community singing together with Mater Christi Carols Band and Singers, Monbulk Primary School Choir, St Paul’s School Choir, The Patch School Choir and Singularity Choir. 7.00 pm Mater Christi Carols Band start program with- Deck the Halls Community Singing 7.05 pm Welcome (MC-Chris Walker) This is a free community event that has been organised as a result of the co-operation between The Monbulk Churches, Monbulk Primary School, & Rotary Club of Monbulk & District Inc. & Monbulk Care Network. All Fundraising will go to Act for Peace Appeal’s Christmas Bowl also-note Glow candles are $2.50 ea -available at front table-plus Free Programs) Toilets are at the Monbulk Primary School- the Pines gate entrance to left side of Rotunda. WE ask everyone to please take their rubbish home with them. The Monbulk Primary School has a program to reduce waste in their bins. Our Mass Choirs are the Mater Christi Carols Band & Singers, Monbulk Primary School Choir, St Paul’s Primary School Choir, The Patch School Choir and Singularity Choir. Everyone is invit-ed to join the singing for all the items marked -Community Singing-all the words are in the free programs. All Children are invited to take part in our impromptu Nativity Play-costume dressing area is behind choir and program/candle stand. Also any mothers who would like to as-sist with dressing the children would be most welcome. Rotary have hot food and cold drinks available. The Rotary Christmas Raffle draw will be held part way through the Program. Open Door Community Church Elves with Judy Thornburn and her helpers for assisting the children.
