He was bom in Rockcastle County Aug. 31,1"927, the son of George and Dolly Pittman Mullins, was a retired farmer and construction worker and member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon. Survivors include his wife, Oma Hayes Mullins, Brodhead; two sons. Tommy Mullinsof Ml. Vemon,Trent Mullins, Nashville. Tenn.; three daughters, Sandra Bullock of Brod- head, Gail Johnson of Cookeville, Tenn. and Teresa Mullins of Berea; four brothers. Bill Mullins of Leroy, IU, Boyd MullinsofWildie and Logan Mullins and Burgess Mullins, both of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Sadie Sow- der. Flora Kirby and Faye Kirby, all of ML Vernon and Bemice Beasley of Lawrence burg. Also surviving are six grandchildren, a great grandchild and three step grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Dowell and Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Romans officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Donald Bul- lock, Dave Johnson, Scott Johnson, Chris Poyntc^ Ray Lunsford and Mailt Cummins. Tankersley Mrs. Retha Tankersley, 70, of Livingston, died May 5,1994 at the Rockcastle County Hospiial. She was bom October 3, 1923 in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie Maliote Cal- lahan. She was a member of the Morning View Holiness Church. Survivors are her husband, Fred Tankersley; a son, Billy Tankersley of Livingston; a daughter, Mrs. Marcella Carpenurr of Livingston; three brothers, Virgil Callahan of Sand Gap, Chester and Everett Cal- lahan, both of Richmond, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Maupin of Sand Gap, and Mrs. Geneva Cruz of Richmond. Ind., 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and two grandchildren. , Services were May 8,1994 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Billy Medley,feurgess Daugheny and Thea Wilder officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery in Jackson County. Pallbearers were Ralph Powell, Eddie Powell, Ronald Powell, Bill Bullock, Everett Wagner and Wayne Rector. Simpson Anna Simpson, 90, of Crab Or- chard, died April 26. 1994 at the Rockcastle County Hospital, after a long illness. She was bom Dec. 10, 1903, the daughter of Elizah Luther Brock and Mollie Boyd Brock. Survivors are five sons: Beckham Simpson of Middletown, Ohio. Melvin Simpson of West Elkion, Ohio, Donald Simpson of West Chester, Ohio. Clyde and Danny Simpson, both of CrabOrchard; four daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Barnett of Port Charlotte, Fla., Mrs. Lillie Dur- ham, Mrs. Lucille Pingletonand Mrs. Wanda Owens, all of West Chester, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and iwn great, great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband. Garfield Simpson, one son and an infant daughter. Services were April 29at Mc Knight and Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Adams officiating.
