INTRODUCTION

i. The Kerala State Self- Financing Pharmacy College Managements Association (KSSPCMA) has decided to conduct a separate selection procedure for admission to the B. Pharm & Pharm. D Courses in the member colleges except for NRI seats and seats that may be set apart for allotment by the state and by the individual colleges.

ii. Theself-financingcollegeslistedinthisprospectusconduct4yearsdegreecourseinPharmacy(B.Pharm)and 6 years Doctor of Pharmacy Programme (Pharm. D) as per the syllabus of the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.

iii. A Controller of Selection and Admissions has been appointed for the co-ordination of selection and admission procedure.

iv. Thisprospectusissubjecttomodification,additionordeletionasmaybedeemednecessarybytheAssociationand subject to the Judgments of Honourable Courts of law.

v. TheprospectuscontainstherulesandregulationsapplicabletotheseatstobefilledbytheManagementsof the Self-Financing Pharmacy Colleges to the B. Pharm & Pharm. D Courses for the year 2015 - 2016 for the colleges who are members of the K.S.S.P.C.M.A.

Vi. Each college will have its own policies of reservation.

COllegeS AND NUMBeR OF SeATSi. The Details of member of colleges under the Association are given in the Annexure - I

ii. The maximum number of seats in each college is as per the sanction obtained by each college from the

AICTE / PCI / Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.

iii. The Government and the respective managements are in the process of negotiation for seat sharing. The

currentunderstandingisthatthemanagementsmaypermitthegovernmenttofillup50%ofseats.Hence

thisprospectusisfortakingofthebalance50%seats.Incasenoagreementisarrivedat,thecollegeswill

filluptheentireseats.SeatsthatmayremainunfilledbytheGovernmentalsowillbefilledbythecolleges

concerned.

Fee STRUCTURe

The Annual tuition fees now proposed by all the member colleges for B.Pharm is Rs. 85,000/- (Rupees eightyfivethousandonly)andthespecialfeepermittedbytheGovtofKeralaandforPharm.Dcourseis Rs. 1,90,000/-(Rupees One Lakh and Ninety Thousand only). In case the Fee Regulatory Committee decides on any lower fee the matter will be taken up before the Honourable High Court and the ultimate fee will be as per the directions of the Honourable High Court. If the fee collected is in excess and any such directions, the same will be refunded or adjusted towards future fees.

Fee for NRI students The fee for NRI student will be Rs.1.50 lakhs per annum for the B.Pharm course and Rs.3.0 lakhsper annum for Pharm.D course.

Discontinuation of the course and payment of liquidated damages

Ifanycandidatediscontinues thecourseafter closingofadmissions31/07/2015asnotifiedby theKeralaUniversity of Health Sciences, Thrissur or such date as could be decided by the competent authority including the court of Law, the candidate has to pay liquidated damages to the tune of full fee of the course.

elIgIBIlITY FOR ADMISSION

(i) Academic

a) B. Pharm: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations

recognizedasequivalentthereto,with50%marksinBiology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer

Scienceseparatelyand50%marksinPhysics,ChemistryandBiology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/

Computer Science put together are eligible. Candidates from National Open School are not eligible to

apply for the course.

b) Pharm. D: (a) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations

recognizedasequivalentthereto,with50%marksinBiology/Mathematicsseparatelyand50%marks

in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics put together are eligible. OR (b) A pass in D.Pharm.

Coursewithaminimumof50%marks inD.Pharm.examination froman institutionapprovedby

PharmacyCouncilofIndiaunderSection12ofthePharmacyAct.(3)Anyotherqualificationapproved

by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations

N.B: However candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state of Kerala shall

producethecertificateofrecognitionandequivalencyofqualifyingexaminationfromKeralaUniversityofHealth

Sciences, Thrissur. This should be furnished at the time of admission. Eligibility for admission to the candidates

belonging to OBC,OEC,SC/ST will be as per the requirements of the Kerala University of Health

Sciences, Thrissur.

(ii) Age

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31/12/2015

CopyofrelevantpageofschoolrecordnamelySSLC/CBSE/ICSEcertificateshowingthedateofbirth/

copyofthebirthcertificatefromappropriateauthorityshouldbefurnishedalongwiththeapplication

attestedbyGazettedOfficer/HeadoftheInstitutionwherethestudenthadstudied.

(iii) Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India.

HOW TO APPlY

Application forms

The application form together with the information brochure can be obtained from any of the member

colleges of the Association listed in the annexure I, on payment of Rs. 500/- for each course (B. Pharm / Pharm.

D) by cash or by sending Rs.525/- by way of DD favouring the KSSPCMA , payable at Chalakudy and to such

candidates application form and prospectus will be sent by post. Request for application form by post should

reachtheofficeoftheControllerofSelectionandAdmissionsatChalakudylatestby5p.m.on05-06-2015.A

candidate need buy only one application form for each course and he/she can submit his preferential options

in the format provided.

SeleCTION PROCeDURe

Preparation of common Merit list and Allotment of candidates:

Admissions will be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination as mentioned below.

The marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or authority of other states shall be equated with the marks obtained by the candidates in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the Director of HSE, Kerala. Marks obtained by the candidates under various streams of examinations such as HSE in Kerala/CBSE/ICSE etc. will be subject to the process of normalisation.

Explanation: Under the method of normalisation , the highest mark obtained by students of various

Boards in each subject shall be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of the Kerala Higher Secondary examination in that subject and the relative marks obtained by other students in that subject shall be determined accordingly.

Illustration: If the highest marks secured by the student of the Kerala state HSE, in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student on any other board in the same subject is 90, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100, if a student of the other board secures 60 marks in Physics when the highest mark in Physics in the same board is 90, the 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived at below:

100X60/90=66.66%

Those candidates who have passed the qualifying examination of any state other than Kerala, will be treated at par with those students who have passed the Higher Secondary Exam of this state.

For allotment of D. Pharm students to the Pharm. D course, Rank List will be prepared on the basis of the marksobtainedbycandidatesinfirstandsecondyearofD.Pharmexaminationfromaninstitutionapprovedby PCI under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Reservation of seatsi. 5%oftheseatsineachCollegewillbereservedtoSC/STcandidatesintheratio4:1.

ii. Ifsufficientcandidatesarenotavailableforthereservedseats,thevacantseatswillberevertedtotheopen merit.

iii. Minorityinstitutionswillhavethefreedomtofixappropriatereservationstotheircommunity.

iv. In case of agreement with Govt. the reservation seats will be alloted from Govt Seats.

v. Fee concession

Feeconcessionwillbegivensubjecttoamaximumof50%ofthefeespayablebyotherregularcandidatesin the respective Colleges ,to candidates whose family income is less than Rs.10000/- per month. This benefitwillbegiventoamaximumof10%ofthetotalsanctionedintakeoftheCollegeandsubjecttothe passing of all continued examinations and continued good conduct. The Management will have the freedomtoverifythefamilyincomeandiffoundincorrectappropriateactiondeemedfitwillbetakenbythe management. This will be at the decretory of individual colleges.

Publication of rank list A common rank list separate for B.Pharm & Pharm .D of all the candidates applied, will be published on

the website of the Association.

i. In the case of a tie in the total marks, the marks in Chemistry in the qualifying examination will be counted.

If there is still a tie, the marks in physics will be counted. If a tie still exists, the age of the candidate will be taken into account, the elder preferred to the younger. If a tie again exists, the alphabetical ascending order of the name of the candidates in English will be taken in to account

ii. Furnishing false information /particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course, and in addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.

iii. SeatslyingvacantafterthedatefixedforthecompletionofadmissionwillbetreatedaslapsedseatsandcanbefilledupbytherespectiveCollegesfromamongtheapplicationreceivedfromtheeligiblecandidates.

iv. Allotment to individual colleges will be made by the Association, on the basis of the preferential options of candidate.

ADMISSION PROCeDURe

i. Originalsofallcertificates/documentsenclosedwiththeapplicationshouldbesubmittedatthetimeofadmission to the respective Colleges.

ii. The candidate shall pay full fees at the time of admission.

iii. TheresponsibilityoftheAssociationandofficeoftheControllerofSelectionandadmissionsislimitedtothe conduct of the Selection and Admission Procedure , publication of the ranks secured by each candidate, preparation of common merit list and allotment of the candidate to the respective College.

iv. Physicalfitnesscertificate,conductcertificateandtransfercertificateoriginalsshouldbesubmittedatthetime of admission to the respective colleges.

REFUND/ADJUSTMENT OF FEESFees paid will be refunded as per the clause in the agreement with Govt.

In the case of SC/ST candidates, they should remit their fee to the concerned colleges at the time of admission.The same will be refunded in case the Govt. pay the fees to the college or assure the payment of the same.

OTHeR IMPORTANT INFORMATION / POINTS

i. No request for change of selection processes will be entertained, nor the Controller of Selection and Admissions will entertained enquiries with regard to date of publication of the results.

ii. IfanycandidatediscontinuesthecourseafterclosingofadmissionsasnotifiedbytheControlleroftheSelection and Admissions, the candidate has to pay liquidated damages to the tune of full fee of the course.

PROHIBITION OF RAggINgiii. Ragging in any form which includes harassment by word, action, gesture, intimidation, coercion, physical or

mental insult / assault, teasing etc. which are capable of causing mental / physical stress or moral torture or agony to other students or staff inside / outside the premises of the College or hostel etc. is strictly coming under the word Ragging and is prohibited in all the member colleges. All the member colleges are committed to abolish Ragging in their campuses. Hence, any student who indulges in any form of Ragging will be subject to penal action as per provisions of law. Students and parents shall at the time of admissionfurnishanAffidavittotheeffectthatthestudentshallnotindulgeinanyformofRagging.

iv. Use of mobile phone by students is prohibited in the campus of all colleges of the Association. Any violation willleadtodisciplinaryactionasdeemedfitwillbetakenbytheCollegeauthorities.

v. No mark will be allotted for interview.

vi. Every student is required to adhere strictly to the code of conduct and discipline of the institution to which he / she is admitted.
