MORENDAT TECHNICAL CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR OIL & GAS1. BACKGROUNDMorendat Technical Centre of Excellence for Oil & Gas is an institution owned by Kenya Pipeline Company Limited. It is located 12 kilometres from Naivasha town, 3.42 kilometers off the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway. It was designated a Centre of Excellence for Oil & Gas Pipelines during the 7th Summit of the Northern Corridor Integration Projects held in Kampala, Uganda in October 2014. The main aim of the Centre is to develop Human Resource capacity for Partner States in Oil & Gas, Pipelines Management, Operations and Maintenance.

The Centre provides competency based curricula in Oil and Gas. The curricula was developed by experts in line with the Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) system using the development of Curriculum (DACUM), an internationally recognized model from Ohio State University (OSU).

The following five courses will be offered at the Centre with effect from 5th September 2016:-i) Pipeline Mechanical Technicianii) Pipeline Operations Technicianiii) Pipeline Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Technicianiv) Pipeline Laboratory Technologistv) Pipeline Fire Officer
