ADDENDUM NO.1

KenGen wishes to issue this addendum addresses the following for the above mentioned tender,

a. Extension of tender closing date b. Clarifications to issues raised during site visit

a. EXTENSION OF TENDER CLOSING DATE

Closing date has been extended to Monday, 16th January 2017. Opening time and venue remain

the same.

b. ISSUES THAT AROSE DURING THE SITE VISIT

The clauses tabulated below have been amended to address issues that arose during the site visits.

SECTION V: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AND SCHEDULE OF REQUIREMENTS.

PART I.

MASINGA POWER STATION.

2 Requirements for the new fire protection scheme.

2.1 Bullet 4

The client shall supply the determined number of CO2 cylinders to be used for generator NO.1 CO2 fire suppression system. The contractor shall connect this set of cylinders to the existing CO2 pipe work to generator NO.1. The contractor shall plug/make good any pipe work resulting from these connections.

The tenderer shall supply a complete set of CO2 fire suppression system for Generator No.1 which shall include but not limited to CO2 cylinders, mounting rack, discharge manifold, interconnecting discharge hoses, check valves, pressure operated directional valve discharge solenoid valves, discharge pressure switches, manifold delay nozzles, slave interconnectors, odorizer, pressure relief device, etc The tenderer shall connect this CO2 fire suppression system to generator No.1 existing CO2 discharge line.

The contractor shall re-fill the provided cylinders to their recommended weights.

19.3 Bullet 4

Communication to the main fire control panel in the control room for the following areas shall be through the existing fiber optic cable. These areas include spillway control room, intake control room, main gate, two outdoor stores and new offices located outside control building.

(i) Spillway and control room transiting via the radio room. A pair of multimode optical fiber patch cords shall be required to cross connect the cores at radio room.

(ii) Intake and control room (iii) Main gate and the new outside stores

The bidders shall be required to supply and install (at least 2ft underground) an 8-core armoured multimode optical fiber cable between the control room and the outside store. A pair of multimode optical fiber patch cords shall also be required to cross connect the cores. Cables running to between control building and outside store shall meet requirements of clause no. 23 which require cables running underground be protected with heavy duty plastic pipes of minimum size two(2) inches diameter. The underground cable runway shall be marked by inscribed concrete slabs 450mm above the ground and spaced at 6 meters. Distance between control building and outside store is approximately 130 meters.

19.3 Bullet 5

Communication to the main fire panel in control room for service and power house building, diesel generator building, cable gallery and battery room shall be through approved fire resistant cables.
