Summer Music Part II
Here are pictures of our gifted musicians who shared their talents since the last
Newsletter. We have been inspired by exceptional worship experiences this
summer...everyone eagerly answered "yes" when asked to sing or play (or both!). I am
personally gratified and blessed by these servants, and especially thank Leanne
Passmore, who continues to play organ/piano while I heal.
We look forward to our Fall season. Choir practice begins Thursday, September 5 from
7-8:30PM upstairs in the Choir Room. Dennis Blair and I welcome new and returning
singers!
We are privileged to serve Him with our gifts and appreciate your continued prayers
and support!
Cindy Bidinotto-Slate
Music Coordinator
Evelyn Layton played Be Thou My Vision and a hauntingly beautiful Celtic work Ashokan Farewell.
Our Heaven Bound Quartet (l-r, John Hauprich, Luke Whitehair, Dennis Blair, Bob Dudley) moved us with Sing Your Way Home, based on Dvorak's Going Home.
John Hauprich and Deborah Terhune played and sang Here I Am to Worship at 8:00/11:00.
Our Men's Breakfast Singers gave us a rousing This Is My Song.
Talented Towson-bound flutist Jennifer Donnelly touched our hearts with the Celtic piece Home Away from Home.

Wednesday Classes:
Join us for Connections Dinner and plan to stay for an Adult Bible Study or Discipleship class.
Prayer that Heals the Heart - Are you tired of ineffective prayers for healing?
Learn how you can experience healing of the wounds in your heart by applying
seven specific prayers to each heart wound. They are not a magic formula that
require nothing of you but rather ways of praying that, when entered into faith in
Jesus Christ, bring victory and release from the deep pain of your spirit. These
supernatural prayers will guide you in using the language of the heart to:
1. Break generational sins and curses
1. Sever ungodly soul ties
2. Replace negative beliefs with God’s promises
3. Renounce inner vows and replace them with Godly purposes
4. Receive divine visions to heal painful scenes
5. Break word curses spoken over you
6. Cast out every demonic stronghold that has connected itself to these inner wounds
We will teach you how to stay healed by guiding you in an intensive Bible meditation
experience where you receive revelation knowledge from God which closes the door so the
adversary cannot return. All are welcome. Chris Johnston and Robert Boyles will be leading
this class.
Begins Wednesday, September 11th in the Library at 7:00PM. Material Cost: $5
Experiencing God Class - If you’ve ever wondered why you’re here, what’s the
purpose of your life, or how you can make a difference in this crazy world, this class
will help you discover the answers. The truths revealed in this study have helped
millions come to know God intimately, to recognize His voice, and to understand
His will for their lives. Valerie Wilder will be leading this group. Begins Wednesday, September 11th in Room 214 at 6:30PM. Material cost $20.
9
The Bait of Satan – This powerful study is one of the most important confrontations
with truth you'll encounter in your lifetime. It exposes Satan's deceptive snare—
offense—used to get believers out of the will of God. The issue of offense, the very
core of The Bait of Satan, is often the most difficult obstacle an individual must face
and overcome. Jesus said, "It is impossible that no offenses should come" (Luke 17:1
NKJV). Your choice is not whether or not you get offended, but how you choose to
respond. This message will empower you to stay free from offense, enabling you to have an
unhindered relationship with God and others. Brenda Faulkner and Ron Weisman will be
leading this group. Begins Wednesday, September 11th in Room 218 at 7PM.
Material Cost $12.
For more information on any classes, please contact Brenda Faulkner at 410-739-4547
Children’s Ministries
Kid's Club - Kids Club begins on Wednesday, September 4th at 7PM. It is designed to
coincide with Wednesday night adult Bible study. This program is a high-energy,
mid-week recharge of spiritual truths through Bible lessons, crafts, fun and games, and
prayer. Come to Connections for dinner from 6-7pm and then head to Bible study!
Children's Chapel - Children's Chapel starts on Sunday, September 8th during the 9:30am
service. Children will worship together with their parents at the beginning of the service
and will then be dismissed by the Pastor to meet in Room 109 until picked up by a parent at
the end of the service. Children’s Chapel has two purposes: to provide an
age-appropriate message with hands-on activities for our young worshippers, and to allow
parents to fully experience the remainder of the worship service and sermon.
Children's Sunday School - Children's Sunday School (ages 2 through 5th grade) starts up
again on Sunday, September 8th at 10:50am to noon. Children’s Sunday School is designed
to help parents in instructing their children about our faith in Jesus Christ. Each week, a
Bible story is told to the children in age-appropriate language and is reinforced by activities
such as crafts, games, and music. Some of the class arrangements have changed, so please
see the room numbers below. This year, all of the children in grades 1-5 will be
participating in a Children's Choir! For that reason, we are changing the start up time of
class to 10:50am. Please have your child in the classroom by that time.
2 and 3 Year Old Children: Room 104
Pre-K and Kindergarten: Room 106
First and Second Grade: Room 206
Third and Fourth Grade: Room 207
Fifth Grade: Room 216

Connections Dinner Ministry
FROM ONE HAND TO ANOTHER…
Connections Dinner Ministry Leads rotate their
time of service. Almost every Wednesday for the
past two years from September to May, Rick and
Elaine Cira have organized servants of our
congregation to provide a dinner on “Connections
Night”. When no one was scheduled, they stood
in the gap and did the planning, shopping,
preparing, serving, encouraging, and feeding
those that come to everything we offer on
Wednesday nights. When asking Elaine what her
two favorite verses are on Servanthood? She’ll
offer Romans 12:1 NIV Therefore, I urge
you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
pleasing to God—this is your true and proper
worship and Matthew 24:46 It will be good for
that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. This long-standing
tradition at KIUMC has been in great hands, but even better hearts.
In May 2018, Mike and Barb Pivec asked if they could pitch in and “do a dinner”. With open
arms, support, and direction from the Rick and Elaine, Mike’s favorite meatloaf dinner was
served to 40 plus people. Barb’s mom’s Stewed Tomato recipe was a huge hit. But the true
blessing was received as the meshing of believers’ spirits came together in the work of
serving not food, but God’s call to worship. This year, Mike and Barb will take the lead with
the guidance and wisdom of the Rick and Elaine and all those that served for the years
prior to 2017. The 2019-2020 guiding verse will be 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use
whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its
various forms.
When you see Rick and Elaine, ask them what they received in their time of worship
leading the Connections Dinner Ministry? When you see Mike and Barb, you might want to
find out how you can use your gift in this ministry.

Grow Up Ministry News
In August, we were blessed by
two special sermons about the
“Woman at the Well”. Pastor Liz
gave her first sermon and
Brenda Faulkner (Certified Lay
Minister) followed the next week
with a touching sermon.
We learned no matter who you
are or what you have done, Jesus
is waiting at the well to fill you
with “Living Water”. Come all
who are thirsty. You will be
changed.

Pastor Liz assisted Pastor Bob with her first baptism
at KIUMC by adding an extra special little touch when
she sang “This Little Light of Mine”. The congregation
was full of smiles and joined in the singing as she
walked Holly Lynn down the aisle.
Father’s Day Sunday is always a special day; but
adding Pastor Amor’s last sermon to it made it even
more special. When she played the ukulele and sang
Aloha Oe (Farewell to Thee) song, there wasn’t a dry
eye in the congregation. Amor and her family will be
truly missed. Glad to know she’s not too far away.
