1. DS2 server pulls the ICAS data from the ICAS work stations once a week
2. Once a week the ICAS data is transferred from the DS 2 server off ship to an amendment server
3. The amendment server receives changes from the ship
4. The Distributed Gateway pulls the changes from the Amendment server

“Off-Ship”Session Initiation
• To Initiate an Update Session– Shipboard Domain Administrator ID/Password
– Ability to Log into the Shipboard Domain• From Off-ship this Includes Traversing the NOCC Firewall
and Ship Firewall
– Ability to Perform a Terminal Session into the DS 2 Server
• DS 2 Update is from an executable (.exe) not a web page
• DS 2 Update is only from the Server Itself
Only a Shipboard IT Administrator can Initiate a Session
Shipboard Server PULLS/PUSHES InformationNOTHING is PUSHED to it
