Awards presented during the 41

st

standing Student Award –

Administration.

▪ The Fred Whitney Award –

Eunice Watson, Business

was the

keynote

speaker for the event.

Dalton expressed great re-

spect for KVCC and for the

quality of its graduates,

speaking of his firsthand ex-

perience with many health

care professionals at Inland

Hospital who got their start at

the College.

“I am a huge fan of the peo-

ple who are Kennebec Valley

Community College: stu-

dents, faculty, staff and ad-

ministration, because you are

such a valuable and valued

resource for Inland Hospital

and, indeed, for the future of

the great State of Maine,”

Dalton said. “You’re graduat-

ing from one of the top com-

munity colleges in the coun-

try and you were taught and

supported by faculty and staff

who are known and respected

throughout the state.”

Dalton reminded the Class of

2011 that past classes of KVCC

graduates have established a

strong reputation for the Col-

lege with employers and pro-

fessionals in the working

world, and urged the current

class to “pay forward” this

valuable gift by maintaining

that reputation in the coming

years through their own efforts

and excellence.

“Value your relationships,

work hard but remember that

there is more to life, keep

learning and stay ahead of the

game, always try to be excel-

lent at what you do, be the

awesome person you are,” Dal-

ton said. “Do all this and you

will give the gift of credibility

to the graduates who come af-

ter you.”

for a quick and

easy way to explore the possibilities KVCC offers, this is it.” Special workshops on financial aid and career opportunities will be of-fered. Classrooms and labs on the campus will be open for viewing. As a special bonus, the applica-tion fee will be waived for all those attending the open house. The Open House will pro-vide a good opportunity for anyone considering enroll-ing for the fall semester to find out what programs are being offered. Potential students can also explore the many op-portunities to transfer cred-its earned at KVCC to four-year colleges and universities.
