Kenn Amabilino Personal Statement I have spent the last 25 years of my Professional career as both a Quality Manager and Works Chemist in widely different fields in Chemical Manufacturing, both Organic and Inorganic. During that time I have been involved in numerous cross functional teams involved in major product development, process modification, plant installation, supplier negotiation & audit, customer facing technical discussion, and management transformation. I have excellent understanding of ISO9001 system management, as well as being involved in the application and setting up of systems on two occasions. I have also been involved in Integrated Management System application and am familiar with liaison between both Environmental and Health and Safety teams. I am a Lead auditor for ISO9001 and have organised and reported on combined QHSE audits of ISO9001/14001 & 18001 of plants across a wide spectrum of processes including production, logistics, laboratory and process optimisation. These experiences enable a broad holistic view of situations and an ability to assess implications beyond the obvious. In parallel to the above I have excellent working knowledge of both Legionella legislation and Radiation Protection as a principal Manager and have dealt frequently with external agencies such as SEPA and CTSA (Counter Terrorism and Security Advisors). I set high standards of personal integrity and honesty and expect my team members to work to the same standards. I support my teams by ensuring that they have autonomy to make their own decisions within their job remits whilst at the same time encouraging discussion within the team on a no fault basis. I am a practically minded hands on manager who prefers to go and assess situations on sites with relevant personnel and be intimately involved in resolution of problems. In my personal life I believe that it is essential to be part of the community in which you live and to return into the community as much as you receive. I was Acting Chair and a Director of a Charitable Trust, which I was instrumental in setting up to run an independent Sports facility, the prime purpose having been to obtain direct involvement of all the Sports Clubs who utilize the facility whilst maintaining an ethos of affordability. This involved Lease negotiation, Employment contract writing, Facility agreement preparation & Grant funding applications amongst other day to day operational issues. Historically I have also been Chair of School PTA and School Boards and was directly involved in the reformation of a School Board. My wide experiences both inside and outside work have given me a range of skills which I am confident can be transposed into any working environment to provide a value added contribution to who ever I am working for.
