Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Development Facility The Rizzo Conference Center The Rizzo Conference Center is nestled in the college town of Chapel Hill, N.C., just a few miles from UNC’s main campus. Designed and built solely for use as an executive development facility, the Rizzo Conference Center sits on twenty-eight beautifully landscaped acres. The DuBose House — Where You’ll Dine Built in 1933, DuBose House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places which describes the property as "one of the landmark Georgian Revival houses of the interwar period." DuBose hosts our groups in comfortably appointed, private dining rooms and serves a rotating buffet menu of regional and international cuisine.

General Information

The Conference Center is comprised of three separate buildings:

The DuBose House is the social gathering center featuring dining rooms, social lounges, a full-service bar, three guestrooms, and a one-bedroom suite. Loudermilk Hall is the main educational building which houses three tiered classrooms, one large multi-purpose meeting/event room, twenty-one breakout rooms, comfortable seating areas and an outdoor patio. McLean Hall is the residence building which contains three flexible-set meeting rooms, ten study rooms, one multi-purpose event room, eighty-six guest rooms furnished with a queen-size bed and thirty guestrooms furnished with two queen-sized beds.

All guestrooms offer a desk and lounge chair, high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi access, communication port for laptops, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safe, and cable television. Washer and dryer facilities, dry cleaning valet services, and a full-service business center are also available, along with 24-hour access to fully stocked snack pantries. There is a small gift shop in McLean Hall that offers personal items and UNC paraphernalia. Recreational facilities include a fitness center with aerobic and weight-training equipment, a sports bar with two professional-size billiard tables and a foosball table, a basketball court, an outdoor heated pool, and jogging trails. What business services are available? The Rizzo Center provides 24-hour phone messaging services. Please call (919) 913-2098 to leave a message for a guest of the Rizzo Center. Faxes should be sent to (919) 913-2099 for meetings in McLean Hall or during evening hours and (919) 913-2499 during the day for meetings in Loudermilk Hall. The Rizzo Center is also equipped with a self-service business center, where guests may send and receive faxes, and make photocopies. Should I request a non-smoking room, if that is my preference? All guest rooms at the Rizzo Center are non-smoking, as is the rest of the facility. Smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas. What are the Information Technology capabilities? The Rizzo Center has state-of-the-art computer capabilities, featuring complimentary high speed Internet and WiFi access and personal computing access throughout the facility. Guestrooms have individual data ports and telephone connections. Conference guests have access to computer workstations and printers during their stay. Can I get a high-speed Internet connection for my laptop, instead of using a dial-up connection? The Rizzo Conference Center offers wireless internet access and high-speed Ethernet connections in all guest rooms, study rooms, breakout rooms and public space. In order to utilize the high-speed Ethernet access, a PC running Microsoft Windows (98, 2000, or NT 4.0) and an Ethernet adapter card with an Ethernet cable are required. Guests should have their PCs configured to access the Rizzo Center’s network by their corporate IT staff. Upon returning to the office, guests should have their PCs returned to their original network settings by their corporate IT staff. Therefore, it is necessary for you to have this done prior to your arrival. What local transportation is available if I do not rent a car?

The Rizzo Center van provides shuttle transportation to any location within a 5-mile radius of the property. This includes the UNC Campus, Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill and the Streets at Southpoint. The shuttle is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to all guests between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:30 PM. What about unloading luggage and parking? Upon arrival, all overnight guests should proceed to McLean Hall to unload luggage and register. Valet parking is available upon request. Otherwise, ample self-parking is conveniently located on property. There are no daily fees or permits required to self-park. The Rizzo Center campus is private property, regularly patrolled by security staff. Do I need to bring my own hairdryer, linens, or iron? No, each guestroom is equipped with hairdryers, sheets, towels, an iron and ironing board. Are laundry services available? The Rizzo Center offers valet dry cleaning services for an additional charge. McLean Hall has a complimentary guest laundry room (two washers, two dryers, & laundry detergent), which is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to all guests. Is there an ATM on the premises? No, there is not an ATM at the Rizzo Center. However, transportation to an ATM in the area can be provided. Is there anything within walking distance of the Rizzo Center? Yes, within ½ mile of the Rizzo Center there are several restaurants, a bank, grocery store, and several shops.
