ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kelli Fox, The Astrologer

Kelli was first drawn to astrology during her childhood in Sydney, Australia. As early as eight years of age, she began recording birth dates and sun signs for anyone willing to share. Kelli's formal astrological studies began at the College of Humanistic Astrology. This led to her professional accreditation with multiple organizations including: CA NCGR IV (National Council for Geocosmic Research), PMAFA (Professional Member of the American Federation of Astrologers), ISAR C.A.P. (International Society for Astrological Research), and the FAA (Federation of Australian Astrologers).

In 1995 Kelli created astrology.com where she continued to live her passion until 2003. After taking a couple of years out to be with her family, she began work on new content and services including mobile phone apps, video horoscopes and forecasts.

Kelli was the first member of the Founders' Circle of Kepler College: http://www.kepler.edu/ and is an emeritus member of its Board of Trustees. (Kepler College is the first college in the western hemisphere authorized to issue BA, AA and MA degrees in Astrological Studies.)

Kelli views astrology as a universal language through which the unique elements that make each of us who we are can be discussed, understood and developed. For Kelli, astrology is certainly not just about entertainment, but that doesn't mean it has to be dry and academic either. She sees her role as

bringing this ancient science to our modern day life through current technologies -‐ from web sites to mobile phones and video screens.

In 2004, with Neptune on her descendant and transiting Pluto conjunct her natal Moon, she had a near death medical experience that left her in a coma and on life support for two weeks. Kelli was fortunate to survive and return from the other side. With new found life, her passion to share the knowledge of astrology with people everywhere was re-‐ignited.

Kelli is a prolific content creator having brought forth over two million words for The Astrologer -‐ the equivalent of 20 novels. In addition she records over 400 astrological video segments every month, from daily horoscopes and planetary updates, to annual forecasts and compatibility reports.

FORWARD: AN INTRODUCTION TO ASTROLOGY

Although lots of people talk about astrology as if it's something of doubtful or supernatural origin, like magic or ghosts -‐-‐ 'Do you believe in astrology?'-‐-‐ it's not a belief system, and it's definitely not a supernatural phenomenon. It's actually a very ancient and complex system based on careful observation of the heavens and related circumstances here on earth.

To understand astrology, you must know that it doesn't work like a psychic, who predicts your future. Astrology is an invaluable guide that helps in making life choices. It points out tendencies and truths about human nature, not to mention the world at large. It gives you the tools you need to make better, more intelligent and informed decisions in your life. For example, if you have a lot of planets in Aries in your birth chart, you'll know that you tend to be rather headstrong and impulsive, jumping into things without much forethought! Anyone can gain greater personal understanding from astrology, even without knowing exactly how it works. After all, why the movement of the stars is related to life on Earth may be an intriguing and mysterious question, but we know that it is, indeed, related -‐-‐ astrology affects our lives just as the moon pulls on the tides and just as the light of the sun enables all life on Earth to grow. As the sun enriches the Earth, astrology can enrich your life. The more you learn, the better you'll be able to apply its wisdom to your own life.

A Brief History of Astrology

Astrology is an ancient wisdom, a mathematical system and an art, not to mention a science that actually predates astronomy. Though ancient, its wisdom is every bit as applicable today as it was thousands of years ago.

It all began when humans at the dawn of time started trying to understand the relationship between the Earth and the heavens, and the movement of the stars in the sky. Astrological interpretations of star omens first showed up on cuneiform tablets found in Mesopotamia. They contain information about Venus, as its movements in the sky corresponded with earthly affairs such as wars, crops and more.

Various forms of astrology have shown up in countless eras and media since those early days. Versions of astrology were developed concurrently in Africa, Asia, India and the Americas, where they're still used today. Shakespeare referenced astrology in his plays, penned in the fifteen and sixteen hundreds (such as Romeo and Juliet's 'star-‐crossed lovers'). The three wise men in the Bible were actually astrologers who followed the Star of Bethlehem to honor the birth of Jesus.

In the twentieth century, astrology shifted from what was once a fatalistic perspective of dire predictions to what it is today -‐-‐ a much more humanistic tool to be used for personal growth. In the updated version of astrology, its wisdom encourages us to face down the challenges presented in our birth charts and within the courses of our lives.

The Age of Aquarius

Welcome to the Age of Aquarius…wait, we’re already here!

Every time I’m asked a question about “The Age of Aquarius” I immediately think of the song “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In” by The Fifth Dimension (you know, the song from Hair). My friend, Aquarius C was asking about “The Age of Aquarius” the other day and what relevance it has with her sign.

I explained that an Age lasts approximately 2,000 years and that the Ages travel backwards through the zodiac – so the Age we are moving out of is Pisces. An Age does not begin on an exact date but rather we start to have an overlap from the previous sign and then a buildup into the new sign. This is also known as “The Orb of Influence.”

The other contributor to determining an Age is something known as The Precession of the Equinoxes. This is a total of all the Ages through each sign which is over 25,000 years. This is a complex topic but to simplify let’s just also say it involves the earth’s rotation as well as the earth’s wobble – picture a spinning top.

Our current/last age was/is Pisces and if we look back over the last 2,000 years we find many of the world religions coming to the forefront. Spirituality or otherwise known as religion has been a major theme of our world history during this time. Many wars have been fought and countless lives lost over individual’s beliefs. The USA was “founded” as a place for religious freedom. OK, so, now you get my drift.

What should we expect from the next 2,000 years then? Years ago, on my previous web site, I discussed The Age of Aquarius but of course my words have now been edited. At that time, I mentioned same sex marriage which didn’t seem to be a consideration, nor did social networks exist such as Facebook, Twitter and the like where one can share their most intimate thoughts and actions or even what they had for breakfast on any given day.

Aquarius is about all people being created equal, we are one and we are all connected. I’ve always though Aquarius represented true democracy but

with a twist…the ancient ruler of this sign is Saturn (and modern ruler is Uranus). I had been wondering how Pluto in Capricorn was going to fit with the start of our free flowing Aquarius Age. I guess you can compare this to what seems to be a mish-‐mash of energy to a place where the people think they have all the say, voting power and the like but when it boils down to it big brother really is watching and making the money but letting us assume we have the control. I guess you could compare it to the social networks of today.

Of course, none of us can predict with great certainty what the world will be like and how it will change. All we can hope for is the positive traits of Aquarius such as philanthropy, invention and thinking outside the box to take effect which will benefit us all.

The Twelve Signs

There are twelve signs in the Zodiac, one for each month of the year. Unfortunately, the signs and the calendar don’t align perfectly. The Zodiac begins in mid-‐March, not on January first; and signs span from roughly the 20th or 21st of one month to the 19th or 20th of the next, not the 1st to the 31st. (Are you confused yet? No? Good!)

When someone asks you what your sign is, they’re referring to your Sun Sign -‐-‐ where the sun was in the Zodiac at the exact moment of your birth. But every other planet in your birth chart is also located in a particular sign, and is influenced by that sign’s unique energy.

This explains why everyone who’s born under the influence of the same Sun Sign can still have such vastly different personalities; each of us is made up of a complex and unique combination of influences from the twelve signs, the twelve houses and all the planets, asteroids and points... Now, that’s definitely getting complicated! But clearly, having lots of planets in a certain sign in your chart will only intensify that sign’s influence in your life.

Each sign of the Zodiac is associated with a particular symbol, usually an animal, like the Ram (Aries) or the Bull (Taurus); an element, such as Air (Gemini) or Water (Cancer); and a quality, such as Fixed (Leo) or Mutable (Virgo). Each of these variables helps us to understand more about the signs that influence us and the energy inherent in each.


CHAPTER 1: ARIES

SECTION 1: 2012 YOUR YEAR AHEAD

Overview

2012 promises to be filled with growth and learning for you, Aries. Innovative Uranus is firmly rooted in your sign this year, as it will be for the next six. You’re shifting and changing, undergoing a process of re-‐invention. Unexpected opportunities can be the ticket to better defining yourself as an individual.

Mark your calendar for March 22nd when the Aries New Moon unites with both Uranus and messenger Mercury. You’re lit up by provocative new ideas that seem to come out of nowhere. Through July you have the determination to tackle some wellness goals, whether getting in shape or losing those few extra pounds. That’s when your planetary ruler, warrior Mars, spends an extended residence in Virgo and your 6th House of Health.

The Solar Eclipse on May 20th sparks a new phase when it comes to learning. You’re drawn to a new genre of books or maybe even studying another language. The theme of furthering your education becomes especially tangible in June—and will be for the next year. That’s because lucky Jupiter will be traveling through Gemini and your 3rd House of Communications.

The three-‐year cycle of Uranus in square to probing Pluto begins this year. It initiates the need to let go of something you perceive is important to make room for new beginnings. The alignments occur on June 24th and September 19th, which may be real shake-‐up days. Remember that change can be stressful but is often the key to pursuing a life that provides you with greater happiness.

Love and Romance Highlights

Relationships have been under the microscope for the past two years since serious Saturn has been in Libra and your 7th House of Partnership. It’s been hard, if not impossible, to cut corners when it comes to managing relationships. They’ve required your full attention and shown you the importance of being responsible.

By October, it becomes very evident that your relationships fall into one of two categories. You clearly perceive the strength and lasting power of some. With others, you can’t avoid the fact that they just don’t provide you with value. It may be time to end the friendships that just don’t serve you. With Uranus in your 1st House of Self Identity, you’ve been changing. And with this evolution, you need your relationships to as well.

The Libra Full Moon on April 6th illuminates the importance of balancing your needs with another’s. If a relationship is teetering, August 15th could prove to be a make-‐it or break-‐it day. That’s when your planetary ruler, assertive Mars, will unite with Saturn.

Another important relationship day for you is October 15th. It’s not only the Libra New Moon but also when Mars harmonizes with innovative Uranus. A new flame ignites or you may get inspired by a radical notion of how to bring more passion into your relationship.

When Saturn moves into Scorpio and your 8th House of Commitments in October, it ushers in a new two-‐plus year period of desiring deeper connectedness. You may get a glimpse of what true intimacy means on the Solar Eclipse on November 13th.

Career and Money Highlights

Your professional life is going through a long period of transformation. This began in 2008 ever since powerful Pluto started its journey in your 10th House of Career. It’s been a process of letting go and being open to changes that come your way. This evolution will continue for the next 12 years. While the ultimate destination may not be evident right now, try to see these career shifts from a bigger perspective. This can provide you with some understanding.

Your planetary ruler, warrior Mars, resides in your 6th House of Work through early July. During this period, relationships with colleagues capture your attention. You can also tap into a sense of fierce determination to get projects done. Opportunities for a creative collaboration come your way on the November 13th Solar Eclipse. What it will lead to may not seem extremely clear at the time but will become more so over the next six months.

You may reap financial rewards from changes in your work March 13th and 14th. This is when Mars makes a grand trine with Pluto and generous Jupiter. With Jupiter transiting your 2nd House of Resources since last June, you’ve had opportunities come your way that have expanded your financial base. Yet through early June of 2012, it’s still important to consider the importance of prudence when it comes to fiscal matters.

Beginning in October, when serious Saturn moves into your 8th House of Intimacy, shared resources are under the microscope. For the next two-‐plus years, it’s important to think twice before participating in joint investments.

Taskmaster Saturn continues its travels through your 4th House of Foundations, urging you to look at family dynamics and how they shape your viewpoints. The last two years have been a time of getting in touch with your feelings and better understanding what nurtures you. While connecting to deep emotions is hard work, you’ll see how it has incredible value. Come October you’ll be rewarded with a more solid base of strength from which you can steer your life moving forward.

The Solar Eclipse on May 20th signals the beginning of a six-‐month period where your dreams and imaginative thinking inspire great wisdom. Expansive Jupiter lights up your 11th House of Alliances through mid-‐June and friendships provide great opportunities for learning. Have you wanted to get more involved in your community? The first part of the year is an especially good time to do so.

When Jupiter enters your 12th House of Solitude on June 11th for a yearlong stay, you find quiet activities and alone time to be especially enriching. Committing to a meditation practice—even if it’s just for five minutes a day—will bring you great benefit. Your health and well-‐being are top of mind on the Lunar Eclipse on November 28th. Powerful Pluto continues to transform your love life. Taking up long-‐term residence in your 7th House of Partnership, it’s galvanizing a new definition of what you need in a relationship. If you are single, you’re less interested in superficialities and more focused on a real meeting of hearts and minds. If you are coupled, this period signals a deepening of your connection or an end to a relationship that doesn’t truly serve you.

In February, dreamy Neptune ends its 14-‐year trip through your 8th House of Intimacy. It’s been a time of heart-‐opening compassion and potentially blurred boundaries. Your visions for relationships should become clearer over the next two-‐plus years.

Beginning in October serious Saturn moves into your 5th House of Romance. This period shows you the value of being realistic when it comes to love. It’s also a time where you see how being authentic in expressing yourself can pay off in spades. The November 13th Solar Eclipses lights up your love life. Assertive Mars travels through your relationship sector from November 16th through December 25th. You’ll have the stamina to work through the kinks in a relationship. Infusing it with more passion may help to take it to the next level.

Career and Money Highlights

Electric Uranus continues to revolutionize your career path. How you want to spend your proverbial 9-‐to-‐5 may seem a lot different now than it did a year or two ago. While sudden shifts in direction may feel unsettling, have faith -‐ -‐ you’re in a process of reinventing yourself.

The Lunar Eclipse on June 4th illuminates the negative impacts that self-‐doubt has on your performance at work. Let go of those undermining messages and have the confidence that you can excel. Powerful Pluto squaring Uranus on June 24th and September 19th unearths power dynamics at the workplace. Forging new relationships with colleagues may be key for galvanizing future career opportunities.

From November 6th through the 14th, reconsider the approach you’ve taken with a work project. See if there is a way to tweak it to communicate your message. The Lunar Eclipse on November 28th helps you clarify how to work smarter. If you’re feeling energetically drained, the solution may lie in making slight shifts in your routines.

For the past 14 years while dreamy Neptune swam in your 8th House of Togetherness, boundaries around shared resources became blurry. As it leaves this sector in February, you gain a greater clarity about how to process with joint investments.

Hold off making important financial decisions July 14th through August 8th. This is when messenger Mercury will be retrograde in your 2nd House of Resources. It’s a better time to re-‐evaluate your current fiscal plan than to set a new one in motion.

Passion: Once you feel a strong bond on an intellectual level, the physical connection between you should fall into place. Libra, you're in it more for the closeness than anything else, so this could work. As in other areas of your relationship, you feed off each other's ideas and drive each other to new heights.

Aquarius/Scorpio

Overview: Your connection could be similar to air and water battling during a thunderstorm. The problem is, you're both stubborn and you both want it your own way. Scorpio, when you run up against a wall of opposing will, you tend to get emotionally manipulative – not to mention sensitive. But Aquarius, your approach is intellectual; you're turned off by all that emotional intensity. Yours will definitely be a battle of wills, as Scorpio tries to bond and Aquarius tries to resist.

Dating: Scorpio, you like to be in control, but if you're dating an Aquarius, accept that you're about to go places you never dreamed of! This sign will resist all your attempts at manipulating the situation, so don't even bother. Instead, enjoy being whisked off to sights unimaginable, where you'll sample unusual cuisine and take part in rituals you never dreamed of. And don't be surprised when Aquarius pays as much attention to everyone else in the room as to you.

Marriage: I hope you share planets in common, because a long-‐term connection might just be too difficult to work out otherwise. It will take lots of understanding of your very different natures: Scorpio, you must give Aquarius plenty of freedom, and accept that you just can't cling to this Sign; and Aquarius, you must accept Scorpio's emotional nature and provide as much security as possible. If you make it to the commitment stage, you're both in it for good.

Passion: If you can keep it purely physical, your connection might be amazing for both of you. You can really go deep on a physical level; you're both quite inventive behind closed doors. Aquarius, you've read (and fantasized) about it all, and Scorpio gives you a reason to try it out. Aquarius/Sagittarius

Overview: You two make great friends and travel companions. The foundation of your relationship is your twin philosophical natures; you both love to explore an idea -‐-‐ or a city, or a relationship -‐-‐ to its outer limits. You both thirst for knowledge, experience and freedom, and together you can find all of these things. Yours won't be the most touchy feely, romantic relationship around, but that works for you. You're too busy delving into the world to bother with hearts and flowers.

Dating: Wow -‐-‐ your courtship will be defined by lots of fun, friends and far-‐out places. Every date is unique and exciting, and different from the last one; I'd be surprised if you do the same thing twice. Don't expect the traditional trappings of romance, either, like flowers and expensive gifts; you're both much more likely to give an unusual, spontaneous gift, such as fresh-‐picked wildflowers or a bag of persimmons. You'll excite each other and push each other to new levels!

Marriage: You are two of the only Signs in the Zodiac who can really give each other the freedom you need. Aquarius, you're a Fixed Sign, so once you make that commitment, you'll stick it out; even so, you need freedom perhaps even more than Sagittarius, so expect a very unconventional union. Sagittarius, you often run away from commitment, but Aquarius won't scare you with clinginess or lots of expectations. You'll be a bit detached from one another, but so what?

Passion: Wow -‐-‐ you two can really heat things up together! If you mix Fire and Air, they just spread, and that's what happens here. You're both adventurers, and anything goes – try Tantric practices, explore the Kama Sutra or invent a brand-‐new way of being intimate, because neither of you will be satisfied with the conventional or repetitive! Aquarius, you want it weird and wild, and you really bring out Sagittarius's animal nature. Have fun, kids!

Bruce Willis: March 19th, 1955

Pisces born Bruce Willis has appeared in over sixty films. He started his career in television starring in the hit show “Moonlighting.” From there he starred in blockbuster movies such as the “Die Hard” series, “Pulp Fiction,” “Armageddon,” and “The Sixth Sense.”

Pisces make for great actors as theirs is the sign of fantasy. Life is easier to deal with when there’s an escape. With Mercury, planet of communication, also in Pisces he may not always speak in a logical or methodical manner. People with this influence sometimes find it difficult to articulate. When he was younger he had a stutter. As Mercury is forming an out-‐of-‐sign trine to Neptune, planet of illusion, it seems he overcame is stutter through acting and playing make believe characters.

Love planet Venus is in Aquarius. Individuals with this placement will try anything once when it comes to matters of the heart. The more unique and different the better. He was married to actresses Demi Moore for thirteen years and they produced three daughters. They both went on to marry other people but much to the public’s surprise and respect they have managed to keep a very cordial relationship, even being photographed together with their respective spouses.

Upon further inspection, Venus in this chart, is not a bed of roses! It forms a square to passionate Mars in Taurus and strict Saturn in Scorpio thus forming a T-‐square. Venus is also in opposition to Pluto, planet of control and power in Leo which only further enhances a potent mix. This very challenging influence of planets makes for a very complex individual when it comes to romantic relationships.

Rihanna: February 20th, 1988

Multi-‐award winning singer Rihanna was born when the Sun just moved into Pisces. True to her sign she has a Pisces sign tattooed behind her right ear and a star in her left ear. Pisces is the sign of music, ideals and compassion. She is a well know philanthropist and has donated her time and money to her many causes.

Her Pisces Sun forms an amicable sextile to three planets which include Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. This indicates she will make an impact on the world. It shows how she can bring the old and new together in a unique and different way. Having her Sun in Pisces, it’s obviously through her music.

She also has had many endorsement deals from Nike to Clinique to Gucci. With both Venus and Jupiter in Aries she is someone who is not afraid to go after what she wants. These placements also represent someone who is great at self-‐promoting and marketing and has a sense for fashion and style, aka trendsetter.

In February 2009, Rihanna became tabloid fodder when she was the victim of domestic violence from her then boyfriend, singer, Chris Brown. With Venus, planet of love forming a challenging square to Neptune, planet of glamor, fantasy and illusion it seems she doesn’t always see the whole person when it comes to her relationships. Many who have this aspect tend to wear “rose-‐colored glasses” when in love. A lot get taken of advantage in matters of the heart as well as with their finances. It was shocking to just about everyone to see a young, beautiful superstar in such a position. With this incident thankfully behind her and more hits which followed, we can only imagine how Rihanna’s star will shine more brightly.

Justin Bieber: March 1st, 1994

Canadian singing sensation, Piscean, Justin Bieber, has taken the female tween and teen world by storm. Just fourteen when his videos were spotted on YouTube he has reached dizzying heights in a very short space of time. He is the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. In July 2010, it was reported that he was the most searched for celebrity on the Internet while his music video “Baby” has become the most viewed YouTube video ever!

Pisces is the sign most associated with music and throughout his childhood, young Justin taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. His Pisces Sun is conjunct or next to Saturn, planet of hard work and responsibility. When these two planets come together it represents someone who is dedicated, disciplined and focused. Saturn can also represent older, more experienced people who will provide wisdom and guidance which fits as Justin has signed a record deal with singing sensation, Usher who is also his role model and mentor.

At the time he was born, Saturn was next to Mars, planet of drive and determination. This is a young man who has the seriousness and stamina to channel his energy into a tangible result. His “brand” or image has been finely honed by his mentors to be ever youthful but with Mercury, planet of the mind, conjunct Mars and part of a loose stellium (Mercury and Mars sit with Saturn and the Sun) it seems Justin Bieber is a man with a long term plan.

Powerful Pluto is an outer planet which, when placed strategically in an individual’s chart at the time of their birth can warrant the person having a global impact.

With Justin Bieber, Pluto in next to or conjunct the North Node. This is a point in the sky which represents destiny and where the individual is headed this lifetime. When it comes together with Pluto it can be interpreted that the individual’s life path is to have a global impact, and so it seems, his destiny is being fulfilled.
