FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT In the early church, LENT was a time of training and preparation for baptismal candidates at Easter. By the fourth century, it developed into a 40-day period, following the biblical pattern of 40 days or 40 years of preparation and anticipation. In its early form, elements of penitence were included. LENT, in our tradition, is a time to re-examine and reaffirm our identity as people baptized into Christ’s body, the church.

Who should I talk to? In the two years of transition at Grace, the organisational structures have changed significantly along with the job descriptions of Grace ministers, assistants, and coordinators (sometimes more than once). However, even though things may feel different or unsettled, please know, Grace is still well-equipped to respond to and address the needs of the congregation.

With all the change, however, it can be difficult to know who to talk to. So, to reduce the potential for frustration, Grace has put together this list to help you identify who you should connect with about what, with the hope that you will be able to connect with the best support sooner.

Who’s who and what do they do? The list below identifies some of the sources of support at Grace and the bullet points clarify their current responsibilities. Browse through the list to see whose areas of focus aligns with your question, concern, or comment and get in touch with them. Don’t worry about getting it “right.” Whoever you speak with will support you and will help to connect you with the person best equipped to respond to your specific need.
