Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World

Like any great rock’n’roll story, thelonger you rock, the bigger the group gets.And that’s exactly what’s happening on RitaRocks. Now airing their second season,Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m., the Lifetime sitcomcreated by James Berg and StanZimmerman has expanded its family inmore ways than one.

Perhaps most notably are the newadditions for stars Nicole Sullivan and TishaCampbell-Martin, both of whom gave birthto their second sons, Beckett Pierce andEzekiel Czar respectively, during the fiveweek hiatus the show took in September.For the characters, this meant the additionof one pregnancy for Rita and one verylarge eating concern for Patty! And as if thatwasn’t enough for the families, Tisha’shusband Duane Martin has joined the castas well to spice things up. No doubt aboutany chemistry there!

Rita Rocks is also starting to expand itsreach in other ways. It has taken overwww.mylifetime.com with new webisodesdocumenting Rita’s pregnancy. It alsoallows viewers at home to vote for the nameof the baby for the season two finale.

And get this; the production now has 3,count ‘em, 3 Bungalows!

Personally, being on the set of RitaRocks really does feel like a big family. Withthe addition of new cast members, crew, andthe new babies, as well as the excitement ofthe new season and web content, the show isbeginning to take its roots here on the lot

I think Production CoordinatorJimmy Brooks said it best when heexplained that, “Last season, it felt like wewere really onto something different andfresh. Office Security Tips

As the holiday season quickly approaches, we should takethe time to review our office procedures and make sure weare doing all we can to stay safe and prevent theft. Beloware some tips to keep in mind at all times while at work.

• Do not leave valuables unsecured. • When leaving your office, be sure to either take or lock

up your purse and/or wallet.• Do not leave documents with personal or confidential

information in plain view.• Lock all file cabinets containing your personnel

documentation.• Do not keep cash in an unlocked desk drawer.• Do not leave keys lying around in the open.• Be sure to close and lock all windows before leaving at

the end of the day.• Do not allow strangers to be alone in your office.• Immediately notify the Security Department, x5085, if

you see any suspicious persons, objects, or activityaround your office.

Environmental Tips from

GREEN YOUR THANKSGIVING

Okay, so you don’t want to govegetarian and pardon the turkey - unlikethe White House Turkey here. But you cando some simple things to green yourThanksgiving.

1. Organically grown turkeys have quite abit less environmental impact. There isalso a big trend to buy "heritage" turkeys,which are strains of domestic turkeys thatmake them capable of being raised morelike wild turkeys rather than massproduced.

2.Attending your local farmers market isa great way to get all your produceand flowers, along with being aboost to the local community. To findlocal farmers markets and even locallygrown turkeys, this website is a greatplace - www.localharvest.org

3. Don’t use paper or plastic plates andutensils - use the real stuff.

4. Compost all of your food scraps.Decomposing food is a major cause ofmethane gas in landfills.

5. Be sure to recycle all your bottles andcans and use your canvas bags forshopping.

6. Carpool when you can with friends andfamily.

7. If you are flying, consider purchasingcarbon offsets for your trip.

8. The 100 mile rule. Try never to purchaseanything that is not produced within 100miles of where you live. A majorchallenge, but environmentally great.

It is conveniently located onthe second floor of the Sound DepartmentBuilding, and is equipped with all of theusual amenities. Please feel free to stop byand inspect the facility to see how it can bean asset to your production.
