Round table discussion with updates from members I’m looking for volunteers to take notes no this section at the meetings

Kitsap waterways health update and discussion From Eva Crim, Environmental Health Specialist for Water Pollution Identification & Correction at Kitsap Public Health District -see message with presentation attached Local Integrating Organization (LIO) Presentation by member Mindy Fohn, Water Quality Manager, Kitsap County Public Works, Stormwater Division The powerpoint presentation is attached to the e-mail to all members with these notes.

- The LIO works on recovering the Puget Sound at a local level - KEEP / ECO Net members are encouraged to join the working group meetings to get a sense of the guidelines and what is being worked on. - The 2016 Near Term Actions are being looked over – submissions are welcome, but it’s recommended members go to the working group meetings - LIO meeting and more information can be found at westcentralio.org

Pitch Your Project: Mayor’s Conservation Pledge presentation by Teresa Sjostrom, Environmental Technician, Water Resources Division, City of Bremerton Public Works & Utilities The powerpoint presentation is attached to the e-mail to all members with these notes.

- This is a national program that Bremerton’s Mayor Patty Lent has signed onto – she is challenging all those who live in the Bremerton Water District to reduce their water usage. - Bremerton already has an average daily average use that is well below normal (145 gallons/day in Bremerton vs. 330 gallons/day in Salt Lake City!), but she is challenging each person to participate to reduce this even further - There are prizes available for the city as well as individuals who participate - Participate and learn more at MyWaterPledge.com - During the discussion it was noted that it would be great to challenge other local mayors to add competition – any members want to talk to Poulsbo, Bainbridge and other mayors about this for 2016? - NOTE: as of April 2, Bremerton is at #1 for our population size for participating cities! Let’s help keep it there J

Christian will discuss several different useful tools that help nonprofits get their message out to diverse audiences, including the use of strong copywriting, photography and video, public events and, last but not least, the various web and social media channels you can use to broadcast your good work. With today’s technology, and competition for attention, nonprofits need messaging presence in multiple spaces; Christian will share several different strategies from his own personal experiences and help you decide where to dedicate your efforts for the most impact for your cause. Before working at NCI, Christian taught writing classes at Western Washington University and Whatcom Community College and served as the Features Editor for
