KCRC GROUPIES
KC Running Company has a regular schedule of free group runs at both
stores. All levels of runners/walkers are welcome! Groupie run participants
also save 20% off most full priced merchandise in the store. Follow the KC
Running Company Groupies Facebook page and training calendar
for updates.
Tuesday speed session - 6pm at Leawood store (135th & Roe in Leawood, KS)
Wednesday groupie run - 6pm at Lee's Summit store (1555 NE Douglas St)
Thursday groupie run - 6pm the Leawood store
Sunday long run - 7am at the Leawood store
ROCK THE PARKWAY GROUPIE RUNS
The FREE 2016 Rock the Parkway Groupie Runs are each Sunday at 7 am
at the Leawood KC Running Company store (4760 W 135th St, Leawood,
KS) until race day, April 9, 2016. Rock the Parkway Groupie Runs are
designed to work for people of all fitness levels, whether you are running
the 5K or half marathon, and the course will be well marked each week
and supplied with periodic aid stations. Groupie runs are free, but you
must register to participate runsignup.com/rtpgroupieruns
MARTIN CITY LEAP DAY GROUPIE RUN
We get an extra day in February and we think we should use it to have
some fun! Join us for a Leap Day Martin City Groupie Run on 2/29 at 6pm
at brand new The Martin Event Space at 135th & Holmes. We will go for a
run of 3-4 miles around Martin City and hang out afterwards and enjoy
free pizza and beer provided by Martin City Brewing Company! Bring a few
extra dollars to donate to our charity partner, Ozanam! Sign up at

March races
The Storybook 5K - March 5 at 9am at Shawnee Mission Park, Shawnee, KS
Join Open Minds Child Development Center in supporting Early Childhood Education by
participating in our first annual Storybook Run 5K Run/Walk! Dress up as your favorite
storybook characters and run through the theatre in the park. Donate your favorite
new or slightly used children's storybook to be shared with children who will gain a
lifelong love of reading and learning! Sign up for the race here.
Great Plains 10K Longview - March 6 at 9am at Longview Lake, Kansas City, MO

Big 12 5K/12K - March 12 at 10am at the Power & Light District, Kansas City, MO
The Big 12 Run 5K/12K is Saturday March 12 at the Sprint Center and features an
opportunity to test your winter training while representing your favorite school!
Everyone that crosses the finish line for either distance will receive a finisher’s medal
and nearly $5000 in Phillips 66 gas cards will be given out to the top finishers! Learn

Whiskey Run 5K - March 13, 8:30am at 135th & Oak in Martin City, Kansas City, MO
Join us for this fun race, part of the 29th annual Irishpalooza presented by the Martin
City Business and Community Association! Participants will get a race shirt, pint glass,
and free post-race breakfast provided by RC’s! Register at www.whiskeyrun5k.com.

Easter Egg 5K & Lil’ Bunny Fun Run - March 26 at 8am at
Southcreek Office Park, Overland Park, KS
Join us for a fun family event featuring a beautiful course, a visit
from the Easter bunny, great event shirts, post-race food and drink,
custom bib number plus unique finisher’s medals! After the 5K, kids
ages 8 and under can participate in the Lil’ Bunny Fun Run and an
Easter Egg hunt! The race benefits Marillac, an innovative
organization helping children in the Kansas City area which provides
a full continuum of behavioral health services for children and
