This Health Resource Guide is designed to help you identify where you can find access to health care, mental health care and oral health services for you
and your family members.
It is also designed to help you locate helpful information and receive assistance in finding health insurance by signing up for insurance coverage through the
Federal Insurance Exchange under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The clinics listed in this guide work together to help you locate not only basic health care services, but also specialists’ services when they are needed. These clinics will do their best to provide you with consistent care and keep your health and medical records current.
Policies at each of these clinics are different. At many clinics, you must have an appointment, so call first to find out if you need an appointment and what you need to bring, such as a picture ID. Fees for services at many of the clinics are based on income and may be reduced or free if you live on a limited income and meet certain state and federal guidelines.
This guide lists clinics by location to help you find care as close to home as possible. It also lists the services you might need, such as vision care, obstetrics, child health, prescription assistance and more.
You can also find this information online at www.kchealthresource.org. You can search for clinics by location and type of service, view maps and get directions to each clinic.
For more copies of this guide, call the Mid-America Regional Council, 816-474-4240, or view the online version at: http://www.kchealthresource.org/print.aspx.
The information in this directory was provided by listed organizations and compiled by the Mid-America Regional Council. While we have made every effort to ensure accuracy at the time of publication, please note that changes occur frequently. Please contact the organization directly to confirm the most current information.

Urgent Care — GeneralAn urgent medical condition is one that is not life threatening but may require prompt attention.
The advantages of using an urgent care center are:
• Urgent care centers usually open early, close late, and have weekend hours.• You do not need an appointment, and you probably will not wait long to be seen.• The centers are staffed by medical staff who can deal with a wide range of conditions.• These facilities are well equipped to provide medical care for minor illnesses or injuries.
Here is a list of the most common non-emergency conditions that could be treated at an urgent care center.
• Twisted or sprained ankle • Fever that won’t go away• Cough, cold, sore throat • Flu symptoms• Minor skin rash • General wound care• Ear infection/earaches • Allergic reactions• Minor burns or injuries • Animal/insect bites• Cuts, bumps, and sprains • Mild asthma
