Appearing for the M.Phil. Entrance Test (MET) 2020
Note:- As you know that, India is passing through unprecedented difficult time due to outbreak of
COVID-19 pandemic, all the universities, institutions are closed due to nationwide lockdown and if the
these circumstances are continued in forth coming days, submission of application form and also
examination shall be online.
Date and Time of Entrance Test : 9th August, 2020 (Sunday) Time 1.30 am to 4.30 pm
Starting date of selling of form : 1st June, 2020 (Monday) available at

Last Date for form Submission : 15th July, 2020 (Wednesday)

1. Eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Phil. program:
1.1 Candidates for admission to the M.Phil. program shall have a Master's degree in the
concerned specialization or a professional degree in the concerned specialization
declared equivalent to the Master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory
body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-
point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an
Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by
an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other
statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring
quality and standards or educational institutions.
1.2 A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade,
may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/NT (non-creamy layer/Differently
abled and other categories) of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from
time to time, or for those who had obtained the Master's degree prior to 19th September,
1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever
grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above
are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace marks.

2. Duration of the Program:
M.Phil. program shall be for a duration of three (3) consecutive semesters of six months
each (i.e. one and half year).
4. Procedure for admission:
4.1 University and Institution shall admit M.Phil. Students through an Entrance Test
conducted at the level of Individual University.
4.2 Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) referred to in sub-clause 1.2 above and Colleges
under them which are allowed to conduct M.Phil programmes, will :
4.2.1 decide on an annual basis through their academic bodies a predetermined and
manageable number of M.Phil. scholars to be admitted depending on the number
of available Research Supervisors and other academic and physical facilities
available, keeping in mind the norms regarding the scholar- teacher ratio (as
indicated in Para 5.5), laboratory, library and such other facilities:
4.2.2 notify well in advance on the institutional website and through advertisement in
at least two (2) national newspapers, of which at least one (1) shall be in the
regional language, the number of seats for admission, subject/discipline-wise
distribution of available seats, criteria for admission, procedure for admission,
examination centre(s) where entrance test(s) shall be conducted and all other
relevant information for the benefit of the candidates:
4.2.3 Adhere to the National/State-level reservation policy, as applicable.
4.3 The admission will be based on the criteria notified by the Institution, keeping in view
the guidelines/norms in this regard issued by the UGC and other statutory bodies
concerned, and taking into account the reservation policy of the Central/State
Government from time to time.
4.4 HEIs will admit candidates by a two-stage process:
4.4.1 Through an Entrance Test with qualifying marks as 50%. The syllabus of the
Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% of subject
of specialization. The Entrance Test shall be conducted at the Centre(s) notified
in advance (changes of Centers, if any, also to be notified well in advance) at the
level of the individual HEI and
4.4.2 Through an interview/viva-voce, to be organized by the HEI as and where the
candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a
presentation before a duly constituted Department Research Committee.
4.5 The interview/viva voce shall also consider the following aspects, viz. whether:
4.5.1 The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed M.Phil. Course and
Research:
4.5.2 The course research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution/College:
4.5.3 The proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.
4.6 For the purpose of the Merit List for admission to M.Phil., 70% weightage will be given
for MET/ Post Graduate score in the concerned specialization (whichever may be higher

will be considered) and 30% weightage shall be given for viva-voce score as mentioned
in clause 4.5.
For securing admission to M.Phil. Course, the student must secure minimum 55%
marks in the viva-voce examination.
A relaxation of 5% of marks in viva-voce examination from 55% to 50%, will be
allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/NT (non-creamy layer/Differently abled
and other categories) of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to
time
4.6.1 Seniority in age of applicant students will be considered as preference while
preparing the merit list of students’ faculty/specialization wise.
NOTE:
I) A candidate shall have to work in a recognized place of research such as University
Departments and other Research Institutes recognized by the University as a Center of
Research.
II) Every applicant from outside the State of Maharashtra but presently living in the State of
Maharashtra shall have to submit an affidavit on stamp paper of Rs 100/- about his/her
residence stating that he/she is residing in the state of Maharashtra from last six months.
III) The applicant should fill up all the forms for appearing in the M.E.T., 2020 examination.
Incomplete form in any respect will be rejected and no correspondence in this respect will
be made.
5) Exemption from entrance examination
The University will exempt those students from M.Phil. Entrance Test (MET) who
qualify UGC-NET including JRF/UGC-CSIR NET, including JRF/SLET/GATE/
teacher fellowship holder.
Those students with valid PET score shall be exempted from the MET.
Those candidates eligible for exemption for the MET must submit the exemption form.
6) M.E.T. (M.Phil. Entrance Test)
a) The application form for MET and exemption form is available on the University
website www.kksanskrituni.digitaluniversity.ac.
b) There shall be one paper of 100 marks, Concerned Subject and Research
Methodology.
1. CONCERNED SUBJECT (50 MARKS) - Overall Passing Marks
Minimum 50%
2. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY (50 MARKS) -
c) M.E.T. being one of the eligibility criteria for M.Phil. Registration, the declaration
of the candidate to be successful in M.E.T. shall not guarantee his/her admission to
M.Phil. Degree.
d) The MET score shall remain valid for a period of one years from the date of
declaration of result.

e) The University shall be the authority for calling the application forms from the
candidates desirous to appear for M.E.T. for admission to M.Phil. degree. The
application form for M.E.T. is available only on University Website
www.kksanskrituni.digitaluniversity.ac.
f) All the filled in application forms along with attested copies of certificates and three
self addressed envelops (size 9" x 4") each affixed with stamps of Rs. 45/- with
prescribed fee in cash or in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Registrar,
Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University,Ramtek" payable at Nagpur shall be
received in office of the Controller of Examination at Kavikulaguru Kalidas
Sanskrit University, Prashskiya Bhavan, Mauda Road,Ramtek
Dist.Nagpur-441106 Maharashtra.
After scrutiny, the Examination department of the University shall publish the list of
eligible candidates of M.E.T. along with roll numbers and provide admission card to all
candidates within the prescribed period on the University website
www.kksanskrituni.digitaluniversity.ac. The candidate should regularly visit the website
to see the information uploaded on the website.
g) The M.E.T. shall be based upon the paper pattern as notified by the authorities.
The medium of question paper:
Sanskrit for Sanskrit subject
Marathi/Hindi and English medium for rest of the subjects.
The students, however, can answer in any medium opted by them.
h) In case of any grievance of any candidate with respect to the conduct of
Entrance Test, the M.E.T. examination committee shall be competent authority to
decide the dispute.
i) In no case, examination fees will be refunded.

Notes : 1. The student should write his/her name in Block Capital Letters as given in his/her
Certificate/Degree of the last qualifying examination. 2. The student should fill in all entries except examination roll no. and centre name. 3. Centre of examination will not be change. 4. The examinee should follow the important instructions given below.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS 1) Examination will be held on the dates and time mentioned in the Programme/Time Table of the
Examination.
2) Examination Hall shall be open 15 minutes before the prescribed time.
3) Entry without the admission card is prohibited. Admission card may be checked during the
examination.
4) The candidate must be in his/her seat in the Hall 10 minutes before the commencement of the
examination. However, the Office-in-charge at his discretion may allow a late comer up to half an
hour thereafter.
5) Every candidate shall maintain peace in the Examination Hall.
6) Examinee shall not bring with him/her any books, written/printed papers or any objectionable
material etc, in the Examination Hall.
7) Each candidate shall read carefully and follow the instructions printed on inside cover page of the
Answer-Book.
8) Before writing the Roll No. on the answer book the examinee shall observe the condition of the
answer book. If found bad containing loose pages, pages are not serially numbered etc. then he
shall bring the discrepancy to the notice of the Invigilator/Office-in-Charge immediately and
obtain new Answer-Book.
9) Each candidate will be supplied answer-books on the cover of which he/she shall write neatly the
Name of the Examination, the Roll No., Name of Subject, specialization.
10) Examinee shall not write anything on the question papers supplied to him/her.
11) No Examinee shall allow either to leave his/her seat within the first half an hour or to submit the
answer-book before completion of an hour from the starting of the examination.
12) Examinee shall leave the hall only after handing over his/her answer-book to the invigilator. The
examinee who has submitted the answer-book and left the examination hall, will not be allowed
to enter the Examination Hall again.
13) Examinee shall sign the Attendance Sheet.
14) The Examinee using unfair-mean/creating nuisance/using obscene language/violence/threat at
the center to the person involved in conduct of examination etc. shall be liable for punishment
by the Board of Examinations as per University Rules.
15) The Examination center will not be allowed to change under any circumstances.
16) Duplicate Admission Card will be issued on payment of prescribed fee.
17) A candidate who is unable to present himself/herself for any examination shall not receive a
refund of his/her examination fees.
18) Cell Phones are not permitted in the Examination Hall.
19) Writing anything other than the answer or making any mark such as his/her name, address,
name of the God, threat/request, tick, cross, circle or underline which identifies or tends to
identify the examinee, shall be treated as unfair means and he/she will be handed over to the
police under the act of 1982 of Government of Maharashtra.
