YQCA vs FSQA
Sorry for the confusion! But the ISF & Iowa 4-H Livestock peeps have changed their
minds/rules/decision
YQCA + ISF = Good to Go
FSQA + ISF = No Go
FSQA or YQCA + Sioux Co Fair = GREAT!
Questions? Feel free to reach out to Katie @ [email protected]
Derby Swine Weigh-in will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on April 11 at the
Sioux County Fairgrounds. We will be using USDA tags for the weigh-in. If State
DNA tags are available, we will have those at the weigh-in also.
Reminder: Derby swine are ALLOWED to be
changed to Market Individuals by June 15th. So bring
any animal you think you might want to show in the
derby class, you can always change your entry later!
If you have any questions please contact the
Extension Office at 712-737-4230.
FSQA IS NO LONGER... replaced with YQCA
How to become YQCA certified….
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training is available online or in person

are organized by grade. --> Use age you were @ the BEGINNING of school year. OR
base it off of your exhibiting level (6th grade is last Junior Level, 7th grade is first
Intermediate level, etc). There is a $12 fee paid online when you register for the
course. You must click to receive your certificate to verify your completion of the course.
Youth are welcome, by appointment, to test at the Extension Office with our laptops and
internet if needed, however, a parent would need to provide payment information for the
online payment needs. Must be completed on or before June 15.
