Katherine Lisa Meyer “e greatest waste of our natural resources is the number of people who never achieve their potential. Get out of that slow lane. Shi into that fast lane. If you think you can’t, you won’t. If you think you can, there’s a good chance you will. Even making the eort will make you feel like a new person. Reputations are made by searching for things that can’t be done and doing them. Aim low, boring. Aim high, soaring.”
My name is Katie Meyer and I was born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Since high school I have had a strong passion for design. Summer 2007, I had an internship at an advertising agency and had the opportunity to learn more about design and its applications. Recently, I have been channelling my passion for design through working with local clients to design yers, advertisements and newsletters.
I am a student at Elon University in North Carolina. I plan to graduate from Elon University in May 2009 with a B.A. in Corporate Communications and a minor in Digital Art.
I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. I spent January 2008 in London for study abroad.
My dream job once I graduate would be to work for Costal Living Magazine doing page design and layout.

e Festive Red BerryCranberries have long been a staple of the holiday table, but that’s about all that has remained constant in the produc-tion and processing of the tart red berry. North Carin looks back at the history and writes about this fruit’s profound impact on the Cape’s farming and economy.
Kindling Holiday Warmth Cape Codders recall the times when their holiday brought special meaning to their lives.
Family Traditions rough all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, Cape fami-lies take time to share some of their family traditions.
An Electric ApproachWhen architects Sharon and John DaSilva rst saw Stage Island in Chatam, they found inspiration for a new home in a wooded lot with a steep grade and a narrow view of Stage Harbor. Terry Ward me with the couple and learned how they brought shingle-style design to their home, creating unique, dramatic and a ordable home.
In Fine FeatherFall migration might peak by mid-September for many birders, but there are still thousands of birds to be seen here, well into the winter. North Carin talks to ornithologists and naturalists about where to go and what to watch for in the ritual of migration, which remains one of the great marvels of the natural world.

About Pegco
History PEGCO was established in 1865 in Andover, NH by Gerry and Augustus Morgan and the Baker, Carr & Sons Co. Sometime later Baker, Carr & Sons’ interest appears to have been purchased by Jacob R. Foster and he along with the Morgan brothers moved the Kearsarge Peg Co. operations to Bartlett, NH in 1878. The two Morgan brothers purchased Mr. Foster’s interest in the business,
1905.
At this time, the trademarks and goodwill of the business were purchased by Edwin and George Foster (sons of the Jacob mentioned above) who rebuilt and operated the plant from 1911 until it was purchased by Stanley E. Davidson and Francis L. Brannen in 1944. These two operated the Bartlett facility until Mr. Brannen’s death in 1962, whereupon Mr. Davidson became the sole owner.
State of New Hampshire with Stanley E. Davidson Sr., as President and Stanley E. Davidson Jr. as Vice President. This arrangement continued until 1979 when Mr. Davidson Sr. retired and the corporation redeemed his stock, leaving Mr. Davidson Jr. as the sole stockholder of the corporation.
On June 21, 2001, Paul Soares purchased 100% of the Kearsarge Peg Co., INC. stock.
