Amenities Katherine Lake Park has sites for 19 recreational vehicles with RV hookups (sites 1-6, 15 amps, and sites 7-19, 30 amps), and 10 tent campsites. The park has two washroom facilities with showers for campers only, sandy swimming beach (no lifeguard services), small playground, fishing, boating, onsite caretaker, and a day use picnic area. Water is supplied by the SCRD drinking water system and is safe to drink. Note: There is no sanitation flush facility.

CampfiresCampfires should not be lit during strong winds and must be attended and kept small at all times. Please extinguish your campfire before leaving and do not cut trees or remove firewood. Firewood is sold by the caretaker.

Camping Camping season runs from the May long weekend to the third Sunday in September. A person or group under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. Campground information is available at the park entrance and from the caretaker.

DogsDogs must be leashed and are not allowed on the beach or in the swimming area, with the exception of service or guide dogs. Please pick up after your pets.

GarbagePlease use designated garbage receptacles. Holding tanks should be emptied at sanitation facilities which can be found at most Provincial Park campsite locations.

ParkingParking is available in designated areas. Keep roads clear, do not block traffic.

RatesDaily fees are $18 for tent site per party, and $22 for an RV. There is a maximum of six people per campsite unless you are a family. Fees are payable in advance. The main gate opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. with no special requests.

In 1990, the Sunshine Coast Regional District purchased approximately 37 hectares of land which surrounds the scenic fresh water lake known as Katherine Lake.

The acquired parkland has been an asset to the entire Sunshine Coast providing a prime public recreation resource. This picturesque lake, with a sandy beach, is a popular swimming spot to enjoy for a day, or as part of a camping trip. Courtesy

The campground is suited for young families, we ask that you respect the peace and quiet of others. Keep noise to a minimum at all times. Designated quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Drive CautiouslyRoads are often used by visitors as paths and play areas, so please respect the maximum speed limit of 15 km/hour. Do not drive over the vegetation.

Procedures and ReservationsPlease check availability at the caretaker’s site. A camping permit is required for overnight use of this facility. User fees help provide maintenance and supervision at this site and are paid to the caretaker by Visa, Mastercard, bank debit card or cash. Check-in time is noon, check-out time is 11:00 a.m.Reservations can be made by calling 604-883-9557.

Vehicle PolicyThere is a maximum of one vehicle per party, unless the vehicle is towed or is a commuter vehicle. All other vehicles require payment of an additional camping pass. Vehicles and ATVs must be kept on roads, parking areas and campsites.

OtherChildren under 7 years of age must be closely supervised within arm’s reach at all times by a responsible person 16 years or older. Hunting or firearms are not allowed in the park. Gas powered boats are not permitted on the lake.

Turtle ConservationKatherine Lake is home to an endangered Western Painted Turtle population. Please do not interfere with the turtles and their habitat.
