Back on campus

By KATE BRANSFIELD

have always been a strong advocate

for our public schools in Santa

Monica and I'm proud to say that our

community's schools are world-class!

I have for years lived and worked near

Franklin Elementary, Roosevelt

Elementary and Lincoln Middle School.

I value education tremendously and

believe that the future in our community

is in the hands of our children.

It's why I support those schools

through my sponsorships of their

programs and activities.

The parental involvement at these

schools is great and if I can help in

some way I am very gratified to do so.

Santa Monica schools still value a

well rounded education. Even in the

face of challenging circumstances at the

state level, students in Santa Monica

still have exposure to the arts and class

sizes remain at reasonable levels. Our

schools are perfect examples of what is

right with education.

That’s a major reason I personally

sponsor the three public schools in our

special corner of Santa Monica.

As we begin the new year, I thought

I'd share with you our schools'

messages as they welcome back

students:

with great enthusiasm that we invite you to

get ready for another exciting and successful

school year.

At Franklin, we are committed to

providing the highest level of education

where all students can learn and be

prepared. Our outstanding staff, wonderful

PTA, and dedicated Site Governance Council

at Franklin are committed to academic

excellence and making a positive difference

for all students. Franklin teachers, staff,

students, and parents are committed to

working cooperatively to create a safe,

secure, and nurturing environment that

promotes the highest level of academic

achievement and character development

while empowering our community and

meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

With your support, we can continue to

make Franklin academically challenging and

nurturing for our children.
