GrantsThere are essentially three basic
grants available to the USCG Auxiliary flotillas and divisions
• Two from BoatU.S.• One from National Safe
Boating Council

Grass Roots Grants – up to $4,000. Opens around July 1st
and closes around October 30th . Recently use focus topic:
2004 = CO; 2005 = Life Jackets

Clean Water Grants – up to $4,000. Opens around
November 1st and closes around January 30th . Recently use
focus topic:2004 = Aquatic Nuisance Species

GrantsNational Safe Boating Council
Local RBS Grants – up to $1,000. Opens around October 25th and
closes around January 25th.
Topics should reduce accidents and enhance the boating experience

responsibility was grants and working with these various
organizations

I will review the applications and make suggestions to assist the
members give the organizations what they are looking for.
Voluntary – not mandatory

TransitionBefore we go onto Publications,
any questions on Grants? One footnote: see about members
who work for large firms – they will often provide grants for
member’s volunteer hours. Usually unrestricted and in the range of
$500
