EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Instead of buying a karaoke

machine, you can run play

free .kar, .mid, and .midi

karaoke song files with the

free "PyKaraoke" software

program in a Linux

computer.

4

"PYKAROAKE"

• "Pykaroake", which is free

and open source, has been

greatly improved for the Linux

platform for the past two

years. It is no longer buggy

and a great pleasure to use

now.

5

"PYKAROAKE" (continued)

• The developers of

"PyKaroake" have help files

and other documentation for

you at

http://www.kibosh.org/pykara

oke/

6

"PYKAROAKE" (continued)

• If you are running the

"Ubuntu" distro of

"GNU/Linux", you can get

"PyKaraoke" and its various

supporting software programs

with the "Ubuntu Software

Center" program.

7

"PYKAROAKE" (continued)

• To use "PyKaroake" to play .kar

or .midi / .mid files, you have to

install

"PyKaraoke".

Then you have to install

"Timidity".

Finally, you have to install either

"freepats" or "eawpatches".
