We have established a self advocacy group that welcomes not
only the individuals that we serve but others as well. All
individuals enjoy having their own social event where they
can discuss whatever recent success they have had, current
events and hold fundraisers.

Praise for Kaleidoscope
We thought we would share just a few of the
compliments we received this month.
I just got off phone with Kevin’s mom. She stated that Kevin
and his KFS provider Jose were meant to work together. Mom
said, “I can’t say enough great things about Jose!”
--Submitted by Emily Musika, KFS Clinical Coordinator
I just wanted to pass along some great praise I got today from
Beth’s family. The family expressed to me how grateful they
are to have Jenna Willen working with their daughter Beth.
Jenna has really stepped up to be there for Beth with some
unexpected changes in her life. Cindy reported that Beth gets
very excited and looks forward to Jenna being there with her.
Jenna has taken the initiative to find new activities for Beth to
participate in. Beth’s family is so grateful to have Jenna and
asked to add an additional day of services.

Message from Executive Director, Dr. TaraColleen Macatee
Based on our vision statement of “dedication” for June, I
would like to start with a quote from Helen Keller, “The world
is moved not only by the mighty shoves of the heroes,
but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest
worker.” The reason I bring this up is because our agency has
been full of growth, growth that can only be defined by the
dedication of each staff member. Their extraordinary
contribution as an individual exemplifies the goals we achieve
on a daily basis. At a recent staff meeting, we did an exercise
that beautifully defined the unique strengths – the “aggregate”
of our team that continues to influence our success. With
offices in PA, MA, MD, DC, NJ and more on the way, we are
able to make a difference in countless lives. In fact, the
dedication of the individuals we serve match our own as
evident by the photos, successes and new adventures that are
sent to us. We proudly post many of them on Facebook, and in
our newsletters. We honor the dedication-the “heroes” and
“tiny workers” that construct our KFS team.

SPOTLIGHT
We would like to highlight Clinton this month for his continued positivity
and progress towards a fulfilling and happy life. Clinton and DSP-Patricia
Ellison are working on his interaction with staff and in the community. He
has been very out going and willing to participate in outings such as
bowling, lunches, theater and parties. Clinton has made cookies, cakes, and
breakfast. He has completes his grocery lists and does the subsequent
shopping.
Clinton is making great progress in keeping
a monthly budget of his finances , clothes,
shopping, haircuts and, even purchasing
equipment for the farm. He has shown
exceptional improvement with his anger;
and is responsive to redirection and
reviewing his options when he becomes
upset. Clinton is recently able to make a
schedule of the events he is interested in
attending and expresses his dislike for
an event that he is not interested in
attending. In the month of May he has
received his certification in Fork Lift
Driving and his Driver License. His resume has been completed and he has
expressed his interest in working at Lowes, Home Depot or the Tractor
Store as a Fork Lift Driver/ Stock person.
He loves farming of any sort, often helping the neighbors with their farm
needs without asking for payment.. He is very family orientated, especially
with his mother and grandmother and is willing to help them in any way
possible. We are so lucky to have Clinton as part of our KFS team!
