    Gentlemen,

Juan indicated you would be the contact people for the preparation of our event in Vallejo. I would like

to make sure you received the e-mail below from M.Carley and check if you have any questions orconcerns about it.

Juan also communicated that the following areas were selected for the Kaizen activities. We need to

make sure that those areas are working during our event so the guests can observe and work with the

    employees of the area:

    -Ceramics

    -MetalWork

    -Assembly

    -Industrial

    -Packaging

I ask you to communicate to the plant about this activities so that the employees understand and

cooperate with the visitors. It is important that the specific Kaizen areas are clearly communicated of

our activities and the purpose of the event.

As part of the first day, we typically take the guests for a plant tour. So, please determine where you

want to take the guests and who will take them to the tour. The 5 Kaizen areas should be part of the

tour. I would like to visit the plant on Monday afternoon to make sure we have all the resources needed for

our activities. Could I count on one of you to show me the Kaizen areas on Monday?

Thanks for your support and best regards,

Hello, Ernesto. I have attached the roster for the Vallejo workshop (May 11-13). We have 11 people confirmed. I expect we will add 3-4 more,

and I will give you their names as soon as I get them.

The timing of the workshop is:

    Tuesday, 8-5

    Wednesday, 8-5

    Thursday, 8-12

Here's what we'll need for the workshop:

Four production processes (could be cells or lines) that the teams can observe and work on during the workshop. Ideally, these will be areas

that you would like some help with and where the process is clearly visible. We should make sure that all the supervisors, team leaders and

operators are aware that we will be conducting this exercise. We would like one hourly person who works in each target area tojoin each

kaizen team, both to get some hourly input into the discussion, and to help the teams complete their kaizens. For the training room we will

need: Projector and screen for showing slides

Speakers that can be plugged into a computer (we will show a video)

Flip chart easels with paper and markers for each of the four teams

Stop watches (one for each team)

Digital cameras (one for each team), If you don't have enough digital cameras, most people will probably have them in their cell phones

Clip boards with a pad of paper (one per participant)

Coffee in the morning and lunch provided each day.

Eduardo Guimaraes (Global Lean Team) and Salvador Garcia (HR Country Manager for Mexico) will facilitate the workshop. I believe Eduardo

will arrive Monday afternoon, and will need a ride from the airport to the plant. Upon arrival he will want to tour the kaizen target areas with you

and go over the logistics for the workshop. I am not sure if Salvador will be able to join you on Monday or not.

Can you tell me what hotel to recommend to people? I usually stay at the Camino Real Ejecutivo Perinorte. We will also need to arrange

transportation to and from the plant for participants each day, and I will need your help with that. After you recommend a hotel, I will

communicate with the other participants to see whether they need hotel accommodations, and whether they can provide their own

transportation. Most of them are in the Mexico City area.

We are all looking forward to an excellent event, Ernesto, and we appreciate all your help in preparing for it.
