2014 COMMUNITY BENEFIT & RELATIONS SNAPSHOT
A Healthy Community is Our Business.
THERE IS A QUIET FACT ABOUT KAISER PERMANENTE WE WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU. OUR STATUS AS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION SETS US APART FROM OTHER HEALTH PLANS AND ALLOWS US TO LIVE OUR MISSION.
We remain dedicated to supporting the full continuum of health and to helping make the healthy choice the easy choice for our members and Coloradans in the communities we serve.
We’ve provided comprehensive health services for more than 45 years in Colorado. Every year is a new opportunity to deliver on our promise because we care about Coloradan’s total health—physical, behavioral, emotional, social, and financial. In 2014, we invested $109 million toward the environment, people, knowledge, and our community.
In the following snapshot see how we invested our resources, the types of projects we invested in, as well as some of our achievements.
We are committed to transforming how the world thinks about and delivers on health.
WE CARE We open the doors for people in need to health care systems. In our medical offices and through our partners in the Safety Net clinics, hundreds of thousands were able to access high-quality care and coverage. Because healthier people make a healthier world for us all.
WE EDUCATE We continue to learn and educate.Through research we are committed to making progress in the prevention of illness, early detection of disease, treatment of ongoing conditions, and development of best-practices. We use the arts to promote greater community health. We invest in the next generation of heath care professionals.
WE BUILD We build upon our assets, resources, and strategies to focus on health needs. We support community health strategies that focus on policy and environmental changes promoting personal healthy choices, community safety, economic stability, multi-modal transportation, and social and emotional wellness.
