10. A-Z OF K8 CITY
1 BIG IDEAS CARDS Put your best team idea down on paper. Post it on the “Big Ideas” poster board.
2 BLUEPRINTS
Team table top maps. Do your planning here.
3 BUILDING
You work out a design, grab material and go for it.
4 K8 AWARDS There are team awards for good thinking, good planning and good citizenship.
5 K8 BIG IDEAS POSTER Take the best idea to the Big Ideas Booth for stamping. Watch your stamps grow!
6 K8 COUNCILS All teams are in Councils. Councils make decisions to guide K8 city.
7 K8 ENGINEERING When you need help with cutting and gluing, take your work to the engineering table.
8 K8 TECHBOOTH Take your high-tech idea to the tech booth on day 2. 9 MATERIALS You can access all the building materials you need, but
don’t take more than you can use. 10 MAYOR One mayor will be selected on each day. Mayors will lead
some activities and represent all the teams. 11 MEETINGS Meetings will look at city ideas and set directions for the
teams. 12 MEMORY PLACES There are 4 “memory places” on the big map. You can’t
build on them unless the council decides… 13 MISSIONS Each team has special mission; check your blueprint… 14 PLANNING
Before you build, plan your team ideas
15 PROGRAM Check the program when you need to know what’s happening and when.
16 RIVER The river is marked on the big map. Does it look familiar? 17 TEAM BASES Each team gets two to work on. Teams can decide where
they get placed on the big map. 17 STAMPS Make it official, ask the mayor to stamp your plan and
your ideas cards. 18 STUDIOS There are 12. Each one is named after an architect or
designer. 19 TEAMS
Same as studios; studio = team.
20 THE BASE/K8 MAP The big central map/base is the site for K8 city. By the second afternoon it will be nearing completion.
21 VOTE Everyone votes. You decide what you want to build, and what is important.
22 WILDCARDS Wildcards are team challenges. Drop everything and make it happen!
