CELEBRATING NATIONAL FESTIVAL

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATIONthNational Science Day was celebrated on 25 February 2016

in Aggarwal College Ballabgarh. Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Scientist, NPL, New Delhi who has a rich and varied research experience in the field of Material Science was the Chief Guest. He motivated the students to adopt research as their career and emphasized on the need of scientific research in India for the benefit of the society to a larger extent and play the role towards Nation Building. Seven teams from different colleges of Faridabad and Palwal participated in Inter College Science Quiz Competition and Poster Making Contest. The topic of the Poster Making was 'Role of Science in Nation Building'. Aggarwal College of Education Ballabgarh won the first prize, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College Faridabad won the second prize and Aggarwal College Ballabgarh got third prize in Inter College Science Quiz.Kirti from Aggarwal College Ballabgarh was awarded first position in Poster Making, Pushpa Tanwar from Govt College for Women Faridabad got second position and Neha Pal from K.L.Mehta Dayanand College Faridabad got third position and Monika Tanwar Govt College for Women Faridabad and Sakshi from K.L.Mehta Dayanand College Faridabad were given the consolation prize. The Running Trophy was won by Aggarwal College of Education Ballabgarh. Dr. S.K. Chakravarti, Director, R & D Manav Rachna University inspired the students and advised them to develop inquisitive attitude. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta congratulated science faculty for the success of the

songs and poems. Kumari Pooja Joshi presented her views on fundamental duties written in Indian Constitution to make the audience aware Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta said that we should celebrate this day as Sankalp Diwas, Prerna Diwas, and Kartavya Diwas. He stated that if we attain 4 S that is Swacch Bharat, Swasth Bharat, Shikshit Bharat and Surakshit Bharat, then ,no one can stop India to be Vishwa Guru . Sh. Devender Kumar Gupta inspired the audience to serve the nation with devotion. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Kiran Anand and Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Usha Aggarwal, Incharge, Wing-II

Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh celebrated the inauguration th rdceremony of 45 Annual Athletic Meet on 3 March 2016 in the

College Campus. Prof. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, VC,YMCA UST Faridabad was the Chief Guest & Sh. Devender Kumar Gupta, President, Aggarwal College was the Chairperson of the Inauguration Ceremony. The Chief Guest was duly welcomed by Sh. Devender Kumar Gupta ,President, Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, members of Managing Committee of Aggarwal Vidya Parcharni Sabha, Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta and all the senior faculty members. After the grandeur of March Past by the sportspersons, NSS & NCC volunteers of the three wings, Oath Ceremony was taken in which the students were asked to follow the true sportsman spirit and play the games in full discipline. After Saraswati Vandana & lighting of lamp, the Principal welcomed the

Chief Guest and told the audience that it's a matter of extreme delight that Aggarwal Vidya Parcharni Sabha has opened another school in Machhgar. He also told that every year we give concession in fees of around 80 to 90 lakh rupees to the students in our institutions & also give various cash prizes to our sportspersons. He asked the students that taking part in sports is equally important for their overall development.

Dr. K.L.Kaushik,Convener, Sports Committee, presented the achievements of the sportspersons at various District,National & International levels. He told that our students, Gaurav & Vaibhav have got gold medals at International Level Throw ball and Softball taking the college to ever new heights.Various cultural items were also organized for the entertainment of the guests. The Chief Guest Dr. Dinesh Kumar exhorted the students to participate in

games with all the more enthusiasm for their holistic growth. He congratulated the Managing committee and Principal for the various cultural, academic and sports achievements of the students. He also said that what we do today makes tomorrow. The

thfunction concluded on 4 March 2016 in which Mr. Mool Chand Sharma MLA Ballabgarh was the Chief Guest and Mr Devender Kumar Gupta was the Chairperson. All the guests were duly welcomed by the Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta and the senior faculty members. After the welcome song, the Principal extended a formal welcome to the guests and motivated the students to take part in games with full enthusiasm & zeal as only a sound mind lives in a sound body. The Chief Guest in his address also laid emphasis on the importance of sports in moulding the character of a student as it inculcates a feeling of discipline and

sportsmanship in them. He said that such events are quite instrumental in carving the personality of students and preparing them to be better citizens in future.Mr. Devender Kumar Gupta, the Chairperson of the function said that besides academic & cultural activities, sports activities also play an important role in the development & growth of students & should be played in the spirit of a true sportsman. Dr. K.L Kaushik, Convener, Sports committee read out a brief report of the sports achievements of the students of the College at International, National & State Levels. A cultural function was also organized to give a glimpse of the cultural activities of the college. In the end , Prize distribution function was held in which Km. Savita of BA-III was declared Best Athlete (Girls) & Lokesh of B.Com III was declared Best Athlete (Boys).

DISTRICT LEVEL YOUTH RED CROSS TRAINING CAMP Aggarwal College Ballabgarh organised a 5 day District Level

thYouth Red Cross Training Camp starting from 12 March 2016, under the instruction of Mr. Chandershekhar (IAS) Deputy Commissioner Faridabad and under the able guidance of Mr. D.R. Sharma Secretary Red Cross Faridabad and Principal Dr. Krishan Kant. The camp was a grand success .The camp was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, who in his address

encouraged the students to become a part of this camp by ringing in the feelings of National integration and universal brotherhood. Besides other dignitaries,Prof. S.K Charkarvarti was also present. The organiser of the camp, Dr. Jaypal Singh Associate Prof. Aggarwal College, exhorted the volunteers to work selflessly and with full devotion. Mr. D.R. Sharma said that service to humanity above the petty concerns of religion, caste & community should

be the sole ideal of volunteers. Assistant Secretary Sh. B.B Kathuria told about various activities to be organised during the camp such as Road Safety, Social Awareness , National feeling etc. in the form of various competitions. In this camp, students & incharges of DAV Centenary College Faridabad, KL Mehta Dayanand College, Govt. College for Women ,Aggarwal College and Govt. College Tigaon were present.

In this camp, Yoga sessions were conducted daily by Ms. Anuprita Sharma . Life member Mr. Harvansh Arora discussed in detail the contribution of youth towards society and their responsibilities towards senior citizens. A Skit on social evils was also presented by students of the college under the supervision of Ms. Kiran Anand . An awareness rally was also organised during the camp in Ballabgarh Volunteers were also told about first aid , health issues, blood donation etc.

Ballabgarh has started coaching classes for various competitive

exams like Clerk, SSC, Banking, State Services (GP A/B/C) etc.

Dr. Ram Chander, Coordinator, stated that these classes are

running under the UGC scheme for the students belonging to

SC,ST,OBC, Minority and financially weaker sections.

FREE COACHING CLASSES FOR NETFree Coaching Classes for NET have been started in ACB under the financial aid of UGC for the students belonging to SC, ST, BC, Minority and financially weaker section. This is the vision of our Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta which made Aggarwal College the first college in Haryana to receive the grant from UGC and to

start these coaching classes. These classes are conducted in college campus after the regular classes.

INTER COLLEGE COMPETITIONSDept. of Sanskrit organised Inter College Competitions like Shlok Writing, Slogan Writing and Essay Writing . Teams from different colleges of Faridabad participated in it. These competitions were

judged by Dr. Mithlesh Aggarwal , K.L.Mehta Dayanand College Faridabad and Dr. Banke Bihari, Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh. The function was concluded with the felicitation of the winners and with vote of thanks presented by Mrs. Manju Gupta , HOD, Dept. of Sanskrit.

TO SERVE THE NOBLE CAUSEA Blood Donation Camp was organised in ACB in collaboration with Lions Club, Faridabad and 108 units of blood were collected. Chief Guest Lion J.C. Verma, District Governor elaborated in detail the various social activities done by Lions Club. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta welcomed the Guests and told that college

has three units of NSS and Red Cross Society which help in organising Blood Donation Camp every year and motivate the students to contribute to the welfare of society and community. The camp was organised under the convenership of Dr. Jaypal Singh and Dr. Praveen Gupta. Volunteers of NSS and Red Cross participated with full fervour.

ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATIONAn Essay Writing Competition and Discussion on Environment Conservation was organised on 22nd January 2016 in the college by the Eco Club and NSS. This was organised under the able

guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant. Mrs. Kiran Anand , Convener of the Eco Club, tested NSS volunteers by asking various questions related to the environment. All three NSS Programme Officers Mr. Ravinder Jain, Ms. Ritu & Dr. Rekha Sain motivated the volunteers to participate with enthusiasm and decided to save water & electricity and to avoid use of polythene and unnecessary use of vehicles. Santosh of BA-II got first, Kavita got second & Komal got third prize in this competition.

CELEBRATING THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. BHIM RAO AMBEDKAR Dr. Arvind Kumar, Asstt. Professor, K.R. Narayanan Centre for Dalit and Minorities, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was the Invited Speaker in the Guest Lecture organised by Dept. of Political Science, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 23rd January 2016. He highlighted the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in constitution making and nation building. He said that Dr. Ambedkar was the Messiah of Dalits and protector of Human

Rights. He stated the efforts of Dr. Ambedkar to establish equality and harmony in different societies by eradicating social evils and discrimination. It was an interesting and interactive lecture in which students asked many queries. All the students of Political Science along with faculty were present there.

HEALTH CHECKUP CAMPA Free Health Check-up Camp was organised on 23th Jan.2016 by Punjab National Bank AVPS Ballabgarh. Mrs Kiran Narula, Manager & her team visited the portals of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh. Mr R K Bajpai ( AGM PNB )presided over the event. Dr Amit (Cardiologist), Dr Sandeep (General Physician ), Dr

Chanchal ( Gynaecologist) with their team from Metro Hospital Faridabad devoted their precious time for this noble cause. More than 150 persons from nearby areas were benefitted by the camp.

MOTIVATING STUDENTS TO SERVE SOCIETY & NATION Under the guidance of Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh, three programmes were organised on 25th January 2016 to prepare the students to do constructive work for the development of society and nation. Jain Guru Sheetal Muni Ji was the main speaker and he made the students aware about their rich culture, language, heritage and tradition through his enlightened speech. He emphasised on a balanced approach of traditional and modern values. He said that Hindi language is the soul of India and for the development of our country , we should accept Hindi language in our daily life. He condemned the worn out customs and superstitions and said that every person should believe in action.

After that a Guest Lecture was organised by Social Science Forum in which Sh. D.K.Sharma, Public Relation Officer, P.F.A. Trust, Faridabad was the Main Speaker. The purpose of this lecture was to sensitize the students towards the protection and importance of animals. Sh. D.K.Sharma motivated the students not to eat non-veg food and to love and care animals as their protection and preservation is essential for maintaining a balance in environment.

In the afternoon, Women Cell organised a Talk on ' Child Protection from Sexual Assault' in which Ms. Garima Singh Tomar , Child Protection Officer , Faridabad and Ms. Shikha presented their views through Power Point and presented a lot of information about POCSO Act 2012 which is about child protection and sexual crime. .

INTER COLLEGE STORY WRITING COMPETITIONAn Inter College Story Writing Competition was held on 3rd February 2016 under the aegis of Hindi Sahitya Parishad. Chief Guest Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta emphasised on the need of these types of competitions to bring out the creativity and originality in literature. He said that literature is a mirror of society and nation and to empower the nation, literature plays an important role. Dr.

Banke Bihari conducted the stage. Two shorts stories of Premchand "NAMAK KA DAROGA" and " THAKUR KA KUAN" were screened for the students. The competition ended with the felicitation of the winners in which Preet Chauhan from K.L Mehta Dayanand College got 1st prize, Poonam Bhati from Aggarwal College got 2nd prize, Poonam from Govt. College Hodal won 3rd prize and Kavita from Aggarwal College bagged consolation prize. Running Trophy was won by K.L Mehta Dayanand College, Faridabad.

RALLY AGAINST THE USE OF DRUGSThe volunteers of NSS unit II and III took out a rally on 5th Feb 2016 to make the masses aware about de-addiction . Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta flagged off the rally and NSS Officers Ms Ritu and Dr. Rekha Sain accompanied the volunteers. The purpose of this rally was to create awareness among the youth about the

harmful effects of drug addiction which deviates them from their aim and leads them towards destruction. The rally took the route from Panchayat Bhawan to Main bazar, Ballabgarh to Aggarwal College.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT A group of forty two students of B.Sc.-II NM visited the VITA Milk Plant Ballabgarh on 8th February 2016. They were shown the process of Pasteurization of Milk and making of curd and cheese. Six groups consisting of seven students each were allowed to perform the tests for adulteration/fat contents etc in the different milk products in their laboratory. The group was accompanied by

Dr. Poonam Anand, Ms. Mansi Tyagi and Mr. Chander Attri. Students took a keen interest and have submitted the reports of the lab work done at VITA Milk Plant campus.

A S T E P T O W A R D S W O M E N EMPOWERMENTA talk on 'Women's Right' was organised in Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 13th Feb 2016 by Women Cell in which Main Speakers Advocate Uma Chauhan and Advocate Ravi Kant made the girl students aware about their rights and various Govt schemes and laws like Ladli Yojna, Domestic Violence Law, Child Safety and Sexual Assault etc. They explained the legal procedure which helps women to restore their rights. It was an interactive talk. Students took keen interest and put forth many queries which were answered satisfactorily.

IQAC MEETING 13th meeting of IQAC was held in ACB on 20th Feb. 2016 in which Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal, Dr. S.K Chakarvarti , Sh. M.C Mittal, Sh. Lokesh Aggarwal , external experts, Dr. Manoj Shukla , coordinator and senior staff members discussed a road map for coming session keeping in view the suggestion given by NAAC to bring more qualitative changes. As per the suggestion , the college has started extra classes for SC, ST,BC and minority students and coaching classes for competitive exams .

DIGITAL MARKETINGTo cater the career needs of the students of B.Voc (SD) and BCA, a career oriented seminar on the topic "Digital Marketing" was organised by Dept. of Computer Science on 17th Feb. 2016 in ACB. Dr. Sachin Garg, HOD, Computer Science welcomed the Main Speakers Sh. Himanshu Singla, CEO Techno Education and

Ms. Ruchika Arora Solution Specialist who highlighted the various aspects of Digital marketing like search engine, optimisation, web designing, communication skills etc. All the students along with faculty members were present there.

WOMEN CELLA function was organised by the Women Cell of the college on 9th March 2016. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta in his address motivated the girl students to move ahead undaunted by obstacles. Keynote Speaker of the function was renowned social activist Dr. Alok Deep. She told that good conduct is the primary requisite of character building and that one should keep on working till the end. Along with her, Ms. Kamla Verma , Ms. Rajrathi, Ms. Urvi

Srivastav and Ms. Renu Sharma were also present. The function was successfully organised by the conveners of three wings. Dr. Reena Chaudhary , Ms. Shobhna Goyal and Dr. Renu Mahesvari. In this function, Essay Writing and Poster Making Competitions were also organised on the topics 'Role of Women in Character Building in Present Context’.

JOB FAIRA Campus Placement was organised on 12th March 2016 in the college by Dr. Shilpa Goyal, Convenor Placement Cell. These programmes are organised under the able guidance of Principal

Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta. Around 130 students of BBA, BBA CAM, BCA, B.Com (Hons.), B.Com. Computer Application, BA, B.Sc, participated and appeared for interview. This interview was conducted by India Mart and Square Yard companies that gave important information to the students regarding their companies. In the process 25 students were selected by India Mart & 12 students by Square Yard.

PLACEMENT CELL A Grand Camp was organised by the Placement Cell of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 15thMarch 2016 in which Saraswati Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Palwal, & DAV Institute of Management were primarily present . This function was organised under the able guidance of Sh. Devender Gupta President & Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal of the College. On this occasion, the officers of TCS Company addressed the students and interviewed them through aptitude test and three rounds of other tests. Selected students will be placed at Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, etc.

INTER COLLEGE COMPETITIONAn Inter College Declamation, Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition was organised on 16th March 2016 by Eco- Club 'Dharti-Mitr' of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on the topics ' Jal Hai to Kal Hai,' ' Saur Urja,' Vanya Jeevan Ka Sanrakshan,' etc. In this Competition teams from SMM College, Palwal, Govt. College, Tigaon, Nehru College, Faridabad , K.L. Mehta Dayanand College, Faridabad, Govt. College for Women, Faridabad and Maa Omwati College Hasanpur participated. stressed on the needs of environment conservation to maintain ecological balance and for human comfort. Chief Guest Dr. Jyotsana exhorted the students to make honest endeavours for saving resources and water and reduce pollution.

QUIZ CONTESTMathematical Club of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh organised a quiz contest on 16 March 2016 in which eight teams comprising of three students participated with full zeal and fervour. The Chief Guest Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta congratulated the organisers and felicitated the winners.

INTER WING QUIZ COMPETITION An Inter Wing Quiz Competition was organized by Commerce Forum of Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh in the Auditorium of Wing-I under the guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta on 17th March 2016. Total five teams participated in it from all the three wings Students enjoyed the quiz and answered the questions

with enthusiasm. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta encouraged the students to participate in these kinds of competitions at Inter College and University level also. He also discussed about Importance of General Knowledge in Competitive exams and building confidence among them. He stressed upon the need of organizing these types of Programmes and active participation of students for their holistic development. The First prize was won by Team B (B.Com Wing –I) and second prize winner was Team E of (B.Com Wing-II). Program ended with vote of thanks by the Convener. All the faculty members of Commerce Department were present on this occasion

INTER COLLEGE QUIZ COMPETITIONThe Management Department of the college organised an Inter College Quiz Competition on 18th March 2016. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, in his address, motivated the students never to give up in adverse circumstances. This competition was organised under the guidance of Dr. Shilpa Goyal, Head, Dept. of Management. Along with Aggarwal College, teams

from DAV Centenary College, Faridabad, Govt. College, Tigaon, Govt. College for Women, Faridabad, also participated. This competition was conducted in five stages in which DAV College Fbd got I, Aggarwal College got II & III position .

MINI BAZAARStudents of B.Voc. Retail Management of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh organised a Mini Bazaar on 19th March 2016 with various stalls of eatables, games, and basic requirements. President of the college Mr. Devender Gupta inaugurated this fete which was organised completely by the students. The President of the college

also inaugurated the Retail Lab. College Principal Dr. Krishan Kant encouraged the students by saying that such functions give exposure to the students and develop their entrepreneurship. 'Aggarwal College ki Chatpati Galiya' was declared best stall.

NSS CAMPA special seven day camp from 21st to 27th March was organised in Patel Nager, Sector-4, Faridabad by the three wings of the College. Awareness was created among the residents about education, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, health and hygiene, cleanliness,etc. A rally was also organised to create awareness about the same. NSS volunteers also visited the centre for Alzhemier patients and talked with them. Volunteers also organised various recreational activities. Debates on current issues like Nationalism, Reservation, freedom of

expression etc. were organised. A documentary on 'Shakahar ki aur Chalo' was also shown. Various competitions like Rangoli Making, Poetry Recitation, Poster Making, Slogan Writing etc were also held

during the camp and NSS volunteers activitely participated in them.

The lecture was organized on Shakespearean tragedy ‘Macbeth’ which is a part of the curriculum of BA Final Year students. Dr. Neer Kanwal, Associate Prof. Dept. of English, Govt. College Faridabad was the Invited Speaker. She gave a brief introduction of all literary genres such as poetry, prose , drama and fiction. She told that literature helps us in understanding our life. She gave a comprehensive picture of the play ‘Macbeth’ through power point presentation. Through it she portrayed the message that good always triumphs over evil.

2016. The topic of the lecture was ‘Adulteration in Milk Products’. He explained the various chemical tests to the students on the basis of which adulteration can be checked.

LECTURE ON LEGAL ACT Legal Literacy Cell organized a Guest Lecture in Wing-II of

th Aggarwal College on “Legal Act” on 16 March 2016. Advocate Uma Chauhan delivered the lecture. She was accompanied by Adv. Dheeraj Saini and Adv. Ravikant Kalia. She also gave information about legal aid schemes, POCSO Act, Domestic Violence Act. Question-Answer session was also held. She addressed the questions and problems of the students in a very informative and fruitful manner.

started with the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Mr. Devender Gupta , President Aggarwal Vidya Pracharni Sabha and Aggarwal College Managing Committee. Dr. Vasudev Gupta, Vice President Aggarwal College Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Krishan Kant were Guests of Honour. Convener Legal Literacy Cell Dr. Usha Aggarwal told about the various aims of the cell. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant told that we should be aware about law and should fulfil one’s social responsibility. Students of the cell made the audience aware of various social evils such as female foeticide, domestic violence and dowry through songs, speech & poems. Ms. Trimesh Kalra recited a self composed poem on ‘ Ek Shraddhanjali-Nirbhaya ke Naam’. A documentary was also shown on ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’. Ms.Vineeta Sharma gave a detailed description of annual activities of the Cell. Chief Guest of the function felicitated the prize winners of various competitions.

th A Workshop was organised by Dept. of Commerce on 5 Feb 2016 under the aegis of VICE SOCIETY. The society has been working for 30 years to protect the consumer rights. The Society is registered with SEBI, BSE, NSE, TRAI and TRDA and is playing a vital role in Consumer Awareness Programme “JAGO GRAHAK

JAGO”. Sh H.K Awasti, Legal Head, Vice Society and Mr. Suraj Prakash made the students aware about Consumer Rights. All the faculty members along with the students of B.Com attended this workshop.

Devender Kumar Gupta. In his address he said that such conferences & seminars provide a platform to enable interaction among academia, researchers & students. The Convenor of the

Seminar Dr. Jaypal Singh presented the theme of the seminar. He said that the purpose of the seminar is to discuss the vital problems & challenges during the period of Nationalism and to reconstruct Indian Nationalism in the current scenario. Prof. Rizwan Qaiser was the Keynote Speaker of the function. In his Inaugural Address he laid emphasis on the fact that History of all the countries is distinct and that each society must be studied on its own terms. He told that the ideology of Nationalism is modern but has ethnic roots that include Religion, languages,etc. He also discussed various social issues in his address.

The Inauguration was followed by three technical sessions in which renowned scholars such as Dr. Jyoti Atwal, Dr. Queeny Singh, Sh. L.R. Sharma, Dr. Yugraj Singh Dogra were present.

Dr. Queeny Singh raised the issue of Nationalism in the hill areas of India.A Book Fair was also organized in the College Library in which renowned publishers such as Pearson Group, Black Swan, etc. displayed books on all the subjects on the contemporary issues.Around 120 delegates from various colleges & Universities of Haryana & surrounding states participated The Valedictory Ceremony of the seminar was attended by Dr. K.P. Singh, Director, National Medical Library, New Delhi as the Chief Guest. He deliberated at length on the topic of the Seminar discussing the various factors that go in the making of Indian Nationalism. Sh. Salek Chand, was the Guest of Honour who discussed the various problems in the way of nationalism. Prof. Pratyush Kumar Mandal, Prof. of History, Dept. of Education in Social Science, NCERT, New Delhi delivered the valedictory address in which he raised various problems regarding the issue of Indian Nationalism and said that only through unity can we hope to eradicate them.Ms Vinita Sharma presented the summary of the seminar. Dr. Jaypal Singh, convener of the seminar thanked all the guests and said that the topic is relevant in today’s scenario.
