FINAL REPORT TASK 002 SUBCONTRACT 9-X52-W7423-1 JVED UC? 0 5 @#J OSTr OVERALL TASK OBJECTIVE: The overall objective of the work on Task 002 of Subcontract 9-X52-W7423-1 was to provide LANL with support to the DOE High-Level Waste Tank Safety Program. The objective of the work was to develop safety documentation in support of the d e tank mitigation activities at H d o r d . The work includes the development of safety assessment and an environmental assessment. TASKS COMPLETED: All tasks which were assigned under this Task Order were completed. Descriptions of the objectives of each task and effort performed to complete each objective is provided below. Task 2.1 Safety Assessment for Instrumentation Insertion The objective of this task was to assist LANL in the preparation of a safety assessment for the insertion of instrumentation for the mitigation of episodic gas releases in Tank 10 1 -SY at Hanford. A safety assessment report was developed in support to the staff of N-6 in their support of the DOE Waste Tank Mitigation Program. Support was provided in the areas of facility and operations descriptions, comparison to criteria, ancillary analysis, and report development. Publications Produced A Safety Assessment for Evaluating the Eficacy of Pump Miring to Mitigate Episodic Gas Releases in Tank 241-SY-101: Hanford Site, Richland, Washington, Prepared for Los Alamos National Laboratory in Support of the U.s Department of Energy High-Level Waste Tank Mitigation Program. Task 2.2 Environmental Assessment The objective of this task was to assist LANL. in the preparation of an environmental assessment for the insertion of instrumentation for the mitigation of episodic gas releases in Tank 101-SY at Hanford. An environmental assessment report was developed in support to the staff of N-6 in their support of the DOE Waste Tank Mitigation Program. Support was provided in the areas of facility and operations descriptions, regulatory compliance, ancillary analysis, and report development.
