Climate change and changes in the energy sector firstly affect our regions, all sectors of regional economic activities, local people and

their pocketbooks

Regions can take action at a scale that complements that of the national governments

and of the EU

They are key players in evaluating energy demand and in determining if energy supply will

meet current and future needs

The environment can be a source of economic growth in regions

Strengthen lobbying activities to consider explicitly the role of regional authorities as being crucial to achieve the “3x20%” target

Encourage networking in order to replicate successful practices

Provide methodological support to regional authorities so that they achieve their territorial

action plans

Take advantage of existing funding opportunities to orient investment more energy

efficiently
