How many of you have manual processes in place to process JustGiving income?
With an upgrade to your thankQ database you can have integration with your JustGiving data
Since we last spoke…
We have launched new products that capture more data than ever before (JustTextGiving, In Memory, Companies) We developed our Data APIs in order to enable data management and manipulation by 3rd parties We worked with thankQ together on an integrated solution for our mutual clients
Why? Because charities tell us
61% of charities interested in connecting JustGiving with their fundraising database*
Data manipulation (exporting, importing etc) often cited as major pain point for current users.
Annual JustGiv* ing Data Survey Results (Feb, 2012) Annual JustGiving Data Survey Results (Feb, 2012)

Case Study – Sands Agenda • Introductions • Background to Sands • Background to their journey with thankQ • What their data pains were with JustGiving
data
Case Study – Sands – Background Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, was founded in 1978 and is a leading charity within the sector.
Each year we support many thousands of families whose babies have died, offering emotional support, comfort and practical help.
In spite of medical advances, the shocking reality in the UK in 2011 is that every day 17 babies are stillborn or die within the first twenty eight days of life.
A team of 28 (many part-time) are supported by an small army of volunteers and support groups operating across the UK.
Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;
Work in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible bereavement care;
Promote and fund research that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives.
We depend on the extraordinary energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds we need to exist.
Case Study – Sands Fundraising! • Grown rapidly – reactive vs proactive
• Head office is in London and fundraising team consists of 4 people remote working (Essex, Kent, Lincolnshire, and Scotland!)
• Using JustGiving since 2003 – One of the charity’s largest income streams
• Processes all manual *groan*

Journey with thankQ • Previously working on an Access Database
– Shared – Remote working!
• Purchased thankQ about 12 months ago • Migrated to thankQ about 3 months ago
Case Study – Sands
Statistics (2003 – 2012) Total income from fundraising pages and direct donations Number of Value of Donations
4623 Fundraising pages £ 2,720,259.91
5213 Direct donations £ 214,504.03
Case Study – Sands
Of the 5213 Direct Donors 2412 opted in to further contact
Direct Donors
Opted in Opted Out
For this period, if we’d been able to contact the 2412 that indicated they wanted to hear more from us and if just half (1,206) had made the average donation of £41.57 we potentially have lost £50,134.89 in lost revenue
Case Study – Sands
Other Data Pains • Poor supporter care to non fundraisers • Money was hitting the bank account which
could not be reconciled • No central place to check what a fundraiser
was doing and how well they were performing
• No central place to collate and access all data
Case Study – Sands
Solution – Stages • So this is how JustGiving and thankQ have
worked together to create a universal solution
• Still need to work out your custom codes
(Serial Number / Source / Destination)
Case Study – Sands
Solution - Configuration • Speak to one of the thankQ staff as you will need
to get this functionality activated
• Get an API Key from JustGiving.com/Developer
• Confirm your Custom Codes
Hopefully we can walk you through this in thankQ with you now.
