London / Belfast, Saturday 14th April 2012: MTV UK has announced that MTV Presents Titanic Sounds – the free, live pop festival that took place against the backdrop of the iconic Titanic Belfast attraction – wowed a crowd of 16,000 music fans, who braved the cold to enjoy show-stopping live performances from multi-million selling artists, Pixie Lott, Katy B, Olly Murs, Sean Paul and Rizzle Kicks.4by Sharon Freeborn

Pixie Lott – dressed head to toe in Dolce & Gabbana – opened the show with a high energy performance of “Boys and Girls”, followed by chart smash “Mama Do”, from her debut album “Turn It Up”, which originally catapulted her to fame in 2010. The soulful R&B influenced songstress wowed the crowds with further performances from her triumphant second album, “Young Foolish Happy”, including “Kiss The Stars”, “Everybody Hurts Sometimes” and “All About Tonight”.

UK duo, Rizzle Kicks, got the crowd going ‘down with the trumpets’, with the hotly anticipated smash hits “Mama do the Hump”, “Youngster” and ultimate crowd pleaser “Trumpets”, before returning on stage later in the night...

As the sun set over Titanic Belfast, international dancehall superstar Sean Paul – who landed in Belfast earlier that morning by very own private jet - performed a raft of smash hits including “Get Busy”, “Got to Luv U” and infamous smash hit “Gimme Di Light”.

Against the backdrop of the incredible Titanic Belfast light-show, Katy B set the stage alight with a powerhouse performance of chart hits from her debut chart-topping album, “On A Mission”, including “Lights On” and new single “Anywhere in the World” – her collaboration with Mark Ronson.

Finally - with his nine-piece band at the ready - UK singer/songwriter, Olly Murs, kept the party jumping with performances of chart smashes, “Dance With Me Tonight” and “Please Don’t Let Me Go”, before being joined on stage by good friends Rizzle Kicks, to bring the show to a close with chart anthem “Heart Skips a Beat”.

MTV Presents Titanic Sounds – staged specifically for music lovers of Belfast who may not have had the opportunity to experience the recent MTV EMA - will be broadcast across 63 MTV channels and 153 territories around the world, as part of its ‘World Stage’ music series. MTV Presents Titanic Sounds performances will also be broadcast on MTV UK’s music channels from 5 May 2012. n

The idea came from Michelle Eve (ME), who wanted to make jewellery fun. Children grow up so quickly and childhood is so precious that she wanted to make young and happy jewellery that was reasonably priced for young people. There seemed to be a gap in the market, with jewellery for children being so limited and often so grown-up and expensive.

Handmade by ME started to make beads resembling liquorice allsorts and dolly mixtures and have since expanded their range to include Gummy Bears, Polo’s, Rolo’s and even pieces resembling penny sweets.

Scrabble inspired jewellery soon followed and now they make up-cycled jewellery from Lego pieces too.

FEATURE

The new ranges for 2012 are dominos and Monopoly inspired pieces will also be available soon.

Handmade by ME also make personalised name bracelets, using bright coloured enamel charms, personalised scrabble charm bracelets and, new for 2012, shambala style name bracelets too!

The bead Handmade by ME use are made by hand at their Wiltshire studio and they are extremely careful about any additional components they use; only using surgical steel for earrings to make them hypo-allergenic and safe for little ears. Their metal components are Nickel and Lead free and they only source their components from suppliers that have been thoroughly checked and work parallel to their company ethics.
