Europa flybys: analysis of detailed operational scenarios

Ground tracks optimized to fly over 4 of the 8 regions of interest with good illumination conditions and study leading-trailing dichotomy S/C sub-point velocity wrt surface at CA: 3.25 km/s

JUICE and the NASA Europa mission

Both projects decided to use the planetocentric East coordinates for the Jovian satellites, so both projects will be consistent.


JUICE and Juno

Juno related scientific topics that should be very useful for JUICE: • Updates in the radiation environment (spacecraft and

instrument designs) • New findings about Jupiter’s magnetosphere and plasma

interactions between the Galilean satellites and Jupiter; updates in the magnetic field model (science planning)

• New findings about Jupiter’s atmosphere (science planning)

• Jovian satellites ephemerides (TBC)

JUICE will pick up on Juno science almost exactly one Jovian year after Juno ends Shared heritage and complementarities between Juno and JUICE
