Making The Right Choice……This is your opportunity to begin to study subjects that align with your strengths and interests.

Subjects that you think will be right for you!

Subject changes in 9 are possible although may be difficult due to high student numbers in classes or no availability of the desired subject on the right line.

Page 12: Junior Secondary Subject Selection...Timothy Barraud – Associate Principal -Junior Secondary Jenny Knowles – Deputy Principal – Partnerships and Wellbeing (Year 8 & 9) Carla

Some Considerations……

Do I choose a subject based on

the teacher I had in year 8?

Do I choose a subject

because my friends are taking it?

Choose subjects that

you enjoy and are good at.

What is an Anchor? An anchor subject is any subject that you do not enjoy and have low aptitude for. You are likely not going to achieve as well in an anchor subject as opposed to one that you enjoy.
