What is a Credit?

1 credit = 1 full year in a class

One half credit = 1 semester in a class

To earn credit:

Grade average must be 70% or better

Must attend 90% of days in the semester

ACT or SAT

ACT

The ACT is an achievement test, measuring what a student has learned in school.

The ACT has up to 5 components: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing Test.

The ACT is scored based on the number of correct answers with no penalty for guessing.

SAT

The SAT is more of an aptitude test, testing reasoning and verbal abilities in Critical reading, Math, & Writing

The SAT has only 3 components: Critical Reasoning, Mathematics, and a required Writing Test.

The SAT has a correction for guessing. They take off ¼ of a point for wrong answers.

ACT – 4 day seminar

Dates: Oct. 24, Nov. 7, 14, 21(Students must attend all four ACT sessions.)

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
