Principal’s Message Hello everyone and welcome to the last week of term 2. I apologise for the late publishing of this edition of the Messenger but with the athletics carnival and our open day we wanted to be able to highlight the great things that have happened here this week. I hope you enjoy the feature later in the newsletter with photos of our NAIDOC week award winners and assembly. It is with great sadness that we say farewell and thank you to the magnificent Miss Dawson. She is leaving us this week and moving out of the area. We wish her the very best of luck and look forward to hearing from her in the near future. We are thrilled to welcome back Miss Leigh Anson who will be taking KD for the rest of this year. As we have mentioned a few times recently we are forming a new class. This will be a 4/5 composite class and will be taught by Mr Mitch Holt. Mitch has been a long-time casual teacher with us and has done a wonderful job for the students that he has taught so far this year. We will be informing parents of the changes to class structures on Friday this week. We understand that change can be difficult but it is necessary and we appreciate your understanding in this. I would like to conclude the term by saying how grateful I am to the staff, students and parents of our school community who have allowed me to be the principal of such a magnificent school. On our busiest days we often forget to enjoy the great things that happen here and the wonderful people who work and learn here every day. It is truly a privilege to be part of such a wonderful school. I wish you all the very best in the school holidays and look forward to seeing you all next term. Principal’s Message

NEWSFLASH ……………………………... A report from our wonderful students and photos to follow in next term’s newsletter regarding our recent Stage 3 Canberra Excursion PACER Parliament and Civics Education Rebate Students from Years 5 & 6 attended an education tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government contributed funding of $40 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program towards those costs. The rebate will be paid directly to the school now that this excursion has been completed.
