A VIEW FROM THE PULPIT
This week Karen and Holly got to go on a
long-awaited trip to Nashville, TN. This left Marc, Duke the dog, and Oreo the Cat, and me to look after ourselves. We came up with what I thought was a pretty good plan. We’d stay at our house through supper till about 9:00 p.m. then go back to their place to spend the night so that Duke wouldn’t get all frustrated by trying to sleep in a different place.
Everything was going good until Thursday evening. I don’t know whether Duke was excited because somehow he just knew they would be in late that night, or maybe he just ate too fast or what; but I heard this noise. Marc said, “You better get him outside there is fixing to be a mess.” Too late. There is just NO fast bone in my body. And right there in the living room Duke decided to show us what he had for supper. As I cleaned up after my furry friend I became more and more frustrated and maybe even worried. “Why tonight when Karen and Holly are coming back – is he sick – or what.”
With each sweep or wipe, I ratcheted up my complaint. I told Duke to go lie down and quit making a mess. I am certain he completely understood every word.
As I read Scripture early the next morning, I happened to read from Psalm 103:
The Lord is like a Father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust. Psalm 103: 13-14
From the Spirit came conviction that our Father in heaven rolls up His sleeves and cleans up after us even more than I had to with Duke. He doesn’t gripe. He doesn’t complain. While there may be dog- shaming in me, there is to children – shaming in God. Our Father knows how weak we are. He understands our limitations. His patience knows no bounds.
No matter how many times we mess up, our gracious Father doesn’t sigh. He never frowns, never chides. No, in His Grace he makes all things new over and over again.

PASSIONATE PERFORMANCE
I have read a book on the subject “Passionate Performance” and how you must perform with passion to reach your goals in life. Therefore, the secret lies in the heart of people meeting their basic emotional needs. These needs being purpose, intimacy, and appreciation. I have learned that; people will forget what you said; people will even forget what you did, but people never forget how you made them feel. Whatever we decide to do in life, we must remember to give God a passionate performance in our daily life by carrying on our responsibility in spreading His word and doing His work in all that we are capable of doing.
We all have the same time, same minutes, and even seconds in every hour of every day. How will you use your day, not knowing what God has in store for you? Give Him the passion that you are gifted with through the Holy Spirit that flows through you.
Praise be to GOD, Jan Renwick, Secretary Buffalo Ladies

The family of Mary Bailes would like to thank each of you for all of the prayers, calls, food, text messages, and visits during Mary's illness. We greatly appreciate it and so did she. We would also like to thank the Women of the Church for the wonderful luncheon
after her service. This was something she wanted – to make sure any out of town guests were taken care of and this gave them the opportunity to fellowship. We are so grateful. Also, to Jim and the choir, for such a moving musical portion of the service. The family thanks you for continuing to keep us in your prayers during this difficult time.

WHEN SPRING ARRIVES
When Spring arrives upon the scene With grass and trees all turning green,
The birds then seem to take a cue And build their nests all fresh and new.
The flowers soon awake once more In shades of color at my door,
Spring just arrived this morn at dawn On yonder hills and far beyond.
Spring never ceases to show her best In pretty Springtime color dress, And never puts her time aside Her loveliness to run and hide.
When as the worlds in slumber deep Spring’s beauty too shall fall asleep,
To usher in so sweet and fair The sights and sounds of Summer rare.
