Have they recently attended training courses to improve their KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ? Did they have their knowledge and skills formally assessed by a fully trained Assessor, whilst carrying out specific tasks measured against a Performance Criteria following CETOP Education Recommendations?. Did they then receive a Certificate awarded by the BFPA on behalf of CETOP, stating the occupational level of Competence achieved? The National Fluid Power Centre is the only Centre in the UK, offering CETOP Competence Based Qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 and we have in place step by step PROGRESSION ROUTES for staff to obtain these levels achievement. SHOULD WE ALLOW STAFF TO WORK ON FLUID POWER SYSTEMS UNLESS THEY HAVE HAD A FORMAL COMPETENCE BASED ASSESSMENT AND RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT TO VERIFY THEIR LEVEL OF COMPETENCE??? We would not allow this relating to GAS and ELECTRICITY so why should we not apply the same rules to Fluid Power. News- NFPC meets representatives from the Health & Safety Executive including Senior Mines Inspectors. During the meeting discussions took place relating to the need to introduce Competence Based Training Programmes into the mining sector. News- NFPC forms a Professional Partnership with the Construction Equipment Association CEA . The CEA have established a Progression Route for their members attending NFPC Training Courses and many lead to CETOP Competence Based Qualifications. News- Demand for both NFPC and CETOP Competence Based Training Programmes involving a formal assessment continues to grow. To accommodate this we are further investing on more equipment here at NFPC. Our plan will enable us to offer up to 30 places per week, on Stage 1 Hydraulics all leading to CETOP Level 1 Competence Based Qualifications. News- NFPC continues to support the OFFSHORE SECTOR as business at the Centre grows. In August we will launch our NEW Stage 2 Offshore Hydraulics Course here at the NFPC. News- To further support the Offshore Sector and to ensure that NFPC Training Courses meet current and future needs we are launching the NFPC OFFSHORE TRAINING ALLIANCE. The following major Companies have already signed up, namely: Royal IHC, Deepocean, Alatas, Hydac Technology, Parker, EFC Aberdeen, Hydrasun and DANA. These Companies will provide direction for the NFPC and assist in its development to ensure those attending training courses at the National Centre are 100% effective in meeting their needs. News- NFPC APPRENTICE SUMMER SCHOOL- Each July when College Courses have closed, the NFPC offers this TWO weeks of

training specifically designed to improve, skills, knowledge, role competency and safe working practices, of Advanced Apprentices and leading to a CETOP Competence Based Qualification. NOW FULLY SUBSCRIBED

News- NEW CETOP LEVEL 2 Competence Based Qualifications. As a follow-on from the NFPC Stage 2 Industrial Hydraulics, Stage 2 Offshore Hydraulics or Stage 2 Mobile Hydraulics, YOU can now proceed to obtain a CETOP Level 2 Qualification in 5 days.

News- Danfoss supports the NFPC Hydraulics Training, supplying PVG 32 valves. These cover both Mobile and Offshore applications. Our training courses include setting up and test procedures using PVG32 valves.

News- CETOP LEVEL 3 Competence Based Qualifications- NFPC Systems Training Engineers continue to make good progress on the development of the Stage 3 Preparatory Modules. These will be launched in January 2020. Anyone considering taking up the level 3 Qualification must begin to consider starting the minimum accepted progression route ASAP- See below.
