NEWS Feature News: Hassle-free drain repairs with MTS pipe lining June 2019 Issue 1 24/7 Tel: 01634 250326 www.mts-ltd.co.uk Our pipe lining service renews drainpipes without any digging and returns existing pipes to better-than-new condition. All at a fraction of the cost of traditional repair and replacement methods. We offer a complete lining service for all kinds of drains, sewers and ducting. This specialist repair service is ideal for households, commercial and industrial premises. Our CCTV equipment identifies the exact location and extent of repair required and our specialists will advise on whether a patch repair or longer run of lining is suitable. We can line pipes 100mm to 1500mm diameter and of most run lengths, both vertically and horizontally including multiple bends. Patch repairs can vary in length from 500mm to 1000mm. Pipe lining is ideal for many different types of ducting and drain material, including clay, concrete, vitreous china, plastic, polycarbonate, cast iron and pitch fibre. An MTS lining crew recently installed a cured in place (CIPP) resin impregnated drain liner in the drainage system serving 19 properties in Sunbury, Surrey (pictured). One property had previously undergone an internal dig to repair a defective section of pipework and our lining service was called in to avoid recurrence in other homes. We installed 100mm liner, using a combination of push rod and inversion drum, to the existing pipework connecting the household internal pipes to the carrier main. This project used ambient cure resin and was completed in seven days, requiring no digging or entry to the affected homes. Read more about MTS pipe lining services.

Patio and driveway cleaning from MTS

Smarten up your outdoor space for the summer. Our environmentally friendly cleaning service refreshes driveways, paths, patios and garden walls. Over time external paving and garden features accumulate moss, dirt, mildew and algae, becoming discoloured, patchy and dull.

Our jet washing system revives block paving, slab paving, brick and concrete surfaces without using any chemicals. As we use only hot water, our cleaning service poses no risk to garden plants, pets or family. We can also remove rust and tyre stains. Even vertical walls are tackled with ease and returned to their original appearance.

Graffiti removal

Our specialists completely remove graffiti from a wide range of surfaces, using a combination of hot pressure jetting and a graffiti remover. We remove graffiti quickly and efficiently from brickwork, concrete, Perspex, plastic, glass, ceramics and metal. Our process completely removes all graffiti without damaging the surface or leaving any “ghosting”.

Materials such as block paving and tarmac present more difficult surfaces for graffiti removal which is why we offer free site visits to assess each individual problem and give our recommendations.

Focus on MTS Ashford

MTS Sucklifts is the headquarters of our domestic services division, which focuses mainly on emptying and cleaning septic tanks and cesspools. 14 drivers are based at our Irene House depot in Ashford, covering Kent and East Sussex with our fleet of smaller tankers.Tulin Russ is the depot manager, moving over to MTS when the company took over the Sucklifts brand in 2008.

Tulin said; “On average, we service 36 customers a day from this depot. We use clever routing and planning so that we can be very flexible and this allows our vehicles to assist on emergency call-outs. I enjoy the daily challenge of planning all the rounds – it’s better than Sudoku!”

Emma Fowler, assistant depot manager, has worked for MTS for three and a half years. Emma covers the route planning when Tulin is on holiday.

The core team of Irene House drivers has worked together for years and share their specialised knowledge which can include tricky access issues in very rural areas. Many longstanding customers enjoy the personal touch of MTS Sucklifts, with some requesting specific drivers.

There are three full-time fitters based at Irene House. Dave Oke has been with MTS for more than 16 years and has seen many changes in the vehicles and electronics over that time. Erin Emin (12 years’ service with MTS) and Dave are currently mentoring Matt Absolem who is six months into a three year apprenticeship. Although new to lorries when he began with MTS, Matt was happy to leave car mechanics behind and now says he wants his career to be “lorries all the way!”

MTS supervises emergency response for Severn Trent Water

MTS is the principal supplier for Severn Trent Water in their East Region and we were recently called upon to supervise an emergency response in the West Region.A major burst rising main occurred at the Little Wood pumping station in Cheslyn Hay, Walsall – a strategically critical site in the West. This is the third time in six months that this emergency has occurred, with MTS chosen to oversee the tankering provisions.

We provided 10 tankers, out of a total of 20 tankers covering the operation. Scean Marriott (Contract Manager) and Simon Prentice (Operations Manager) provided the MTS 24 hour site supervision, completing the operation in record time. Scean said; “We were very pleased to complete the works within three days as previously it has taken two weeks. Thanks to all the crews who worked hard to get the best results for our customer Severn Trent Water.”

Sales Director Chris Henderson and his team will be out and about promoting our services at this year’s South of England Show and Kent County Show. Chris said; “We’re returning to these two fantastic country shows to showcase our range of services, particularly for homes and businesses without mains drainage. We’re looking forward to meeting customers old and new who will be visiting for a great day out.”

Both shows celebrate British countryside, farming and rural life, offering lots to see and do for all the family. The South of England Show is at the Ardingly Showground 6 – 8 June and the Kent County Show is at the Detling Showground 5 – 7 July. Look out for our distinctive stand and vehicles!

Wellbeing at MTS

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a health problem that is similar to premenstrual syndrome (PMS) but is more serious. PMDD causes severe irritability, depression, or anxiety in the week or two before a period. Symptoms usually go away two to three days after a period. If this sounds familiar to you (or maybe your partner or someone in your family suffers in this way), it’s important to get a diagnosis and treatment for what can be a very debilitating condition. Vicious Cycle are working to make PMDD more visible and offer a lot of resources and support.

10 – 16 June is Carers’ Week 2019, this year’s theme is getting carers connected, helping them to get the support they need to care without putting off their own health needs or losing important relationships with others.

The same week (10 – 16 June) is Men’s Health Week. Use the website to answer any questions you have about health issues – you can look at their Frequently Asked Questions or search for the topic you’re interested in.

On 14 June World Blood Donor Day celebrates and thanks voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
