Southern Gospel Music Died In 2016Barbara Riley (Wife of Tim Riley from Gold City) on April 19th at the age of 69.Sammy West (Father of Gold City bass singer Chris West) on April 22nd at the age of 66.Gwen Mast (Won of the Super Fan Award at the 2000 Singing News Fan Awards) on May 1st at the ageof 45.Jack Daugherty (Product Table of the Primitive Quartet) on May 1st at the age of 83.

The First Featured Group Of The MonthThe first feature group of the month is The Kinsey Brothers. The Kinsey Brothers grew up in a strong Christian home where singing hymns and gospel songs was common place. Although they do not tour regularly, they love to take advantage of any opportunity to sing praises to the Lord and lift up the name of Jesus. Hugh Kinsey, Oklahoma City, sings baritone and arranges and records the accompaniment tracks. Paul Kinsey, Little Rock, AR, sings tenor; he is the Pastor of Rose City Church of the Nazarene, North Little Rock. John Kinsey, Lehigh, OK, sings lead, and has recently retired after 30 years of ministry. Steven Sharp, nephew to the Kinsey Brothers, sings bass; he is the band director at Tuttle High School. The Second Featured Group Of The MonthThe second featured group of the month is The Pacesetters Quartet. Building on the legacy of Pacesetters founder Jim Smith, the Pacesetters Quartet presents gospel music in the same spirit of integrity, excellence, and anointing. The Pacesetters Quartet was formed in order for these talented musicians to share their love for the Lord with others and to bring encouragement to the body of Christ by sharing great gospel quartet music. This group has been blessed to have seen such a tremendous outpouring of love, support, and encouragement as they have stepped out to be obedient to God's call. Members include tenor-Ron Higgins, lead-Steve Sam, singing baritone-Phillip Gann, and bass-Tim Dazey. Their website is www.pacessettersquartet.com.
