Cold Sale Come join us at the BRiCk in July to sell cold items to members working out in the heat. Date to be determined Region seven held a training conference for upcoming officers and members who would like to help their club on May 17. Three officers and one member participated in this opportunity to better the BHS Key Club. The conference took place at Boswell High School in Fort Worth. This year’s theme was Safari with the choice for the club members to dress for the occasion. Many people participated, and there was an abundance of energy from the different Key Clubs. Different ideas were shared on how to better improve a club as well as some helpful advice from the LTG and other board officers. The Burleson Key Club spent their morning at Russell Boren Farms helping with their first pancake fund raising breakfast on May 2. The farm had a display of games that children in the late 1800s to early 1900s would enjoy playing, such as horse shoes and bag toss. Our members helped raise almost $2,000 during the fund raiser. Character March showcases students

Mound Elementary students participate in the Character March around Elk Stadium.

The BHS Jr. ROTC and drumline, including Key Club member Paulina Borowski, lead the Character March around the stadium.

2014-15 Burleson High School Key Club Leadership Board

On Saturday the 24th, key clubbers helped man the first stop on the Burleson Honey Tour, a local bike race. Key clubbers helped cut up fruit for the bikers, poured drinks,

and helped out fellow Kiwanians by making sure the booth was properly managed. Key Clubbers enjoyed helping the participants Honey Tour!

Helping a child during the children’s church service at First United Methodist Church, Vanessa Castañeda makes sure they complete their evening project correctly.The Key Club helps serve dinner to the hungry and packs boxes of food for their family during the week. “We pack pasta, crackers, fresh fruit and vegetables for each family,” Castañeda said.The group then helps during children’s service that follows the dinner every Wed. night. “That night we told the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000.”
