Let me introduce you to Sky VBS, where “Everything is Possible

with God” (Mark10:27). Dozens of ministry volunteers are

coming together to make this special vacation possible. For

five evenings, June 24-June 28, over 100 kids will come into

AUMC…Envision the Sanctuary platform decked out in blue

sky, clouds, and fun flying objects like kites and balloons. We

will worship together with awesome music, led by two ladies

from our own praise band! Then kids will break out into small

groups and make their way to each of four stations where the

night’s Bible point will be emphasized and applied through a

variety of engaging activities – Games, Theater & Missions,

Bible Adventures, and Imagination Station.

Another exciting aspect of VBS is our mission. Love offerings

will go to WorldVision’s Operation Kid to Kid to provide

mosquito nets for the African country of Mali, where children

are dying of malaria every day. Every $6 we raise can

purchase one bed net that protects two or more kids and

lasts up to four years. At the Theater & Missions station each

night, kids will learn about real children whose lives have

been saved by these nets. Kids will create Friendship Cards to

send to the children in Mali. Together, along with the other

churches participating in this VBS mission program, we will

provide more than a million mosquito nets to at-risk children!

We will also be doing a food drive of non-perishable items for our local Caring Hands Food

Pantry as a practical way to demonstrate God’s love through giving and to remind kids

that there is need all around us, and with God’s help, we can make a difference!

No matter who you are…how you feel…what people do…what happens…or where you

are…Trust God! You may not be directly involved with this year’s Vacation Bible School, but

it takes each one of us to make it all that God has in store. Soon, there will be a table in the

Narthex displaying items that you can lend or donate. Financial contributions with memo

line VBS can help ease the cost of supplies or fund registration scholarships. There are also

positions available to help before VBS starts with decorating and preparing materials if

you’d like to share your time and talents. Last but certainly not least, you can serve by

praying: For the leaders & teachers – that God fills them with love, patience and

enthusiasm. For the children who will attend – that their hearts be open and eager to grow.

For the families – that the excitement the kids bring home will continue beyond their time

here. Vacation Bible School takes a lot of time, money, and planning but is such a

powerful outreach that kids will remember for years to come. Thank you for your love and

support!

Trusting God,

Operation Kid-to-Kid Mosquito Nets for Mali, Africa

Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that kills one child every 30 seconds. Mali is a country in Africa that is twice the size of Texas.

VBS love offerings will go toward purchasing

mosquito nets to help squash Malaria in Mali Every $6 will buy one specially treated bed net to

cover 2 or more children—and last up to 4 years! We’ll also make Friendship Cards to send to the

kids who will receive the nets Local Mission - Caring Hands Food Drive Throughout the week, kids can bring non-

perishable food items to donate to our local pantry. We’ll have tubs for each group to see who collects the most…there may be a prize!
