Please feel free to see them with any questions, comments, or concerns as they are here to help you in any way they can. This month is going to be busy as we are kicking off the summer with trips to the park, vacations, and spending more time outside exploring. We also have Fun Fitness Week at Kendal this week and are participating in events with the residents. You are more than welcome to join us if you are available during this time. Due to possible construction with the pool, this will also be our last month swimming until August or until the construction is done. I hope you all have a great month and enjoy the summer. Giraffe Whistles:

The past few weeks the children have been busy planting the

vegetables we had started inside and also flower seeds, in our garden outside.

They really enjoy watering them and watching them grow. On May 23rd

we

enjoyed spending the day at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. The weather

was perfect for our picnic lunch. The children enjoyed learning about dirt and

all the fun things that can be found in the dirt. There were many fun and

exciting places to explore outside like the big tree house, and we also went

inside a glass house that was filled with flying butterflies and exotic trees.

During the week of construction we have been busy building with a variety of

materials including sugar cubes, Lincoln logs, marshmallows, Legos and a

very big tube. Hayden enjoyed sharing his knowledge of construction

vehicles as we read our stories.

We would like to welcome our newest members to our Giraffe family, Clara

(Cole’s sister) and Jonathan Robey. We are saying good bye to Leo as he is

traveling to Germany and Italy this summer and then going to kindergarten

this Fall. Please remember to send in an extra set of clothing for your child as

we will be spending time outside getting wet this summer!

Karen and Julie

May has flown by and we had a blast! The Birds enjoyed

pretending to be Humpty Dumpty and Jack by jumping over a candle

stick while we focused on the children’s rhyming. The children

loved doing their top secret presents for mommy to celebrate their

special day. We also continued our work with our garden by planting

our vegetables in the garden outside in the play yard. Check out our

Facebook page to see the garden as it progresses.

Our tadpoles are growing quick. They are starting to get

their frog legs, and we had plans on releasing them into the Kendal

pond as they grow; however, they all died over the weekend.

June is going to be super busy. We had the Community

Picnic last week and this week is Fun Fitness Week. Of course we

talked about daddies to celebrate their special day, too. Construction

and summer are also things we have also been talking about.

We would like to remind everyone to make sure you have

weather appropriate clothes here at the center for accidents and water

play.

Hope everyone has a great month!

Sara, Robin, Jeni, and Jennifer
