Well, mirroring my comments

for April, May was another quiet month with everyone enjoying routine golf and social activi-

LAW 1:

No matter how bad your last shot was, you should have Inner peace knowing

that a shittier one is yet to come. This law does not expire on the 18th hole,

since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tourna-

ment, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.

LAW 2:

Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst

round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people

you tell about the former.

LAW 3:

Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the

lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its

attraction to water. Expensive clubs have been known to be partly made with

this most unusual natural alloy.

LAW 4:

Golf balls never bounce off of trees back into play. If one does, the tree is

breaking a law of the universe and should be cut down.

LAW 5:

No matter what causes a golfer to muff a shot, all His playing partners must

solemnly chant "You looked up," or invoke the wrath of the universe.

LAW 6:

The higher a golfer's handicap, the more qualified he deems himself as an in-

structor.

Golf Tip

Perfect Posture: Much too often, posture is over looked when looking to change or improve a golf swing. I am sure you all remember……”STOP SLOUCH-ING” or “SIT UP STRAIGHT”. Well as it turns out, our parents did know what they were

talking about. A change in posture can change the dynamics of your whole body: range of motion, muscle function and coordination, balance, and even breathing patterns can be affected by your posture. Good posture can prevent injury and increase your ability to perform a golf swing

consistently. To check your posture, align a club so that the blade is on the top of your head and the shaft is touching your lower spine. While holding your spine in this position, flex your hips into your golf stance. The club should still be touching your lower spine, your chin should be lifted, and your back should be straight. This exercise can help re-train your body on how to bend from the hip joint and not the spine, preventing injuries to your back and giving you the ability to turn more freely in

your golf swing. Next time you are watching the PGA or LPGA on the TV, pay close attention to the 1 thing that all of their swings have in common. You will notice that they all have great posture and they all bend from the hips as opposed to

slouching with rounded shoulders.

LADIES INTERCLUB June 2010

Once again CCC hosted our annual Ladies Interclub on Tuesday May 11. We had 80 ladies come

to play. Thanks to Ramiro and his proshop staff for arranging and organizing the rented carts etc.

They did a great job. A special thanks to all the ladies who brought the goodies for the half time table. They were delicious and a big hit. We appreciated Don Fraser, Kathryn and Jeannie for their help. Don for looking after the goodie table. Kathryn and Jeannie delivered sandwiches and water as well as marking closest

to the pin on #17. What would we ever do without our volunteers? Marco needs to be commended for the wonderful meal he and his kitchen staff prepared for

us. Of course our waiters, well all I can say is they are the best. Everyone truly enjoyed the golf course and our hospitality. I think it was the best 7--71/2 hour

round we ever had. It was fun. Chris Herd won closest to the pin 1st flight Maggie Gaudet won closest to the pin 2nd flight Christine Davis, Donna Kolody, Chris Herd got lucky and won raffle prizes— "vouchers for

Liverpool dep. store". Thanks again for making this day a success. Donna Kolody CCC Interclub Rep.
