JUNE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
WINDING DOWN, WINDING UP
“Are you ready for this to be over?,” goes the question. I’m
sure every one of the guild officers who has carried responsibility is
able to field this question. It’s akin to a year-long process of prepar-
ing for a wedding --- the conclusion to all the efforts brings a sense
of relief and satisfaction in spending time for something you believe
in. There’s some accomplishment in going the distance.
This distance couldn’t have been traveled without the help of
so many dedicated guild members, some of whom volunteered even
before being asked, and for the adventurous ones who said yes in an-
swer to my recruitment call. I am very proud to have been part of
this year’s roster. I am extremely thankful to everyone who helped
the guild (and covered my back.)
Officers and chairs are asked their goals at the beginning, and
I’m ready to fill in the blank for July: budget at least twenty minutes
a day to quilt, initiate an email diet of less than ten minutes a day,
participate in a bee for the “coastal contingent”, and finally get some-
one who has never visited the quilt museum to ride down with me!
Have a wonderful summer: quilt as though you
have the time, take a non-quilter to a show, show
someone your work…….and play for all your worth.
Andrea

Next year we will be celebrating women, their lives and quilts.
Judging will be by a certified judge and members may enter
only one of their quilts to go through the judging process. You
will have written feedback on the judging.
Members can still enter as many quilts as they wish. We are encouraging EVERY MEMBER to think about putting
one quilt in– BEGINNERS especially![ We all had to start
someplace!] This past year only 60 members exhibited and we
had over 100 quilts in the show.
Mary Ginn and Pat Lucey– Co-chairs
PUBLICITY: Jan Taylor and Angie Cyr did a terrific job publicizing our
show– we increased our attendance by over 200.
THIS JOB/JOBS is open for 2011.
We need Publicity for newspapers, quilt shops, shows etc
and we also need someone to handle the ads in the booklet.
Let us know if this is something you can take on– Jan left
wonderful notes!
