Future Mobility Forum 2017 CASE: Connected – Autonomous – Shared – Electrified

Dear Sir or Madam,

Volkswagen Group is determined to take advantage of the dramatic change in the automotive industry. To continuously inspire our customers with sustainable mobility, we are opening up new growth oppor-tunities with innovative products and a digital ecosystem.

We are currently experiencing the greatest disruption in the auto industry triggered by technology- driven trends such as connectivity services (Connected), autonomous driving (Autonomous), shared mobility (Shared) and electrification of our fleet (Electrified), in short, CASE.

The Future Mobility Forum Wolfsburg offers a platform on which suppliers and partners can commu-nicate with the management and employees of Volkswagen from procurement, IT and R&D divisions on CASE topics and beyond. An open discourse between all participants is an important step towards the future.

We put together an exciting program for you with interactive lectures, workshops and master class sessions in an extraordinary event location. On June 20 and 21, 2017, you can connect with the following speakers and experts: Edzard Overbeek, CEO, HERE, Prof. Amnon Shashua, CTO and Chair-man, Mobileye, Nadav Zohar, Global Head of Corporate Development, GETT and Ole Harms, CEO, MOIA.

Speakers from Volkswagen AG are Ralf Brandstätter, Member of the Board of Management for the Volkswagen brand with responsibility for ‚Procurement‘, and Johann Jungwirth, Chief Digital Officer.

I like to wish the 400 participants an informative forum, stimulating conversations and many new contacts.

Conference Focus

The conference is organized in coordination with Volkswagen AG according to the four main strategic objectives of the automobil industry. The following trends will be in focus and will guide all speeches and workshops on both conference days.

Autonomous driving is nowadays a highly relevant topic. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) already offer various autonomous driving functions. In the future, autono-mous driving will enable the driver to use the time driving the car more productively. Autonomous driving is expected to help to reduce the number of road accidents as well. However, hurdles must be overcome, such as developing the required infrastructure.

Car sharing is becoming more and more popular. This is primarily because mobile Internet is more easily available. Car drivers can cut the costs of car ownership. Car sharing compa-nies and users can easily find to each other. This changes the whole attitude towards the car as a personal property.

The emissions regulations in large cities will become tighter to protect the environment. Consequently, customers are switching to zero-emission vehicles. The number of battery and hydrogen-powered vehicles increases accordingly. Electric as well as conventional vehicles are equipped with sensors and electronic components.

Customers expect to have perfect and seamless communication in vehicles. Therefore, personal devices need to be connected easily to the vehicle infotainment and other systems. Car makers are requested to equip their cars taking their customers’ demands into account, in regards to their specific needs for business as well as private trips.
