5.) COUGAR ANNIE TALES (Katrina Kadoski-Sooke) Pick of the Fringe” (Victoria 2012) Actress/Singer Katrina Kadoski stars in a multimedia one-woman show about the legendary Cougar An-nie. In the early 1900s, the legendary West Coast settler Cou-gar Annie was anything but a typical woman. She trapped over 70 cougars, homesteaded a rainforest bog, opened a remote post of� ce, and outlived 4 husbands. “Kadoski is a con� dent performer who has created a well-polished cultural addition to Vancouver Island’s heritage.”  —  Amy Smart, Times Colonist “Her musical ode to Cougar Annie is a treat to behold” — John Threlfall, CVV magazine

6.) ROSIE’S BITTS OF TEASE CABARET (Best Bitts-Victoria) The show is in the genre of an old school cabaret and burlesque show. Beautiful girls perform Neo and Classic Burlesque, an MC poking fun at social conventions and naughty jazz and blues sung by Miss Rosie Bitts., a multi-award win-ning performer, producer, writer and singer.

7. “CAPSULES-IT’S ABOUT TIME” by Gwynne Hunt (Penny-a-Line Players/local) What is time anyway, if not just a thought? Andy Warhol collected over 600 time capsules in his life and along with other ‘time-concerned’ actors shares his thoughts on ‘time’. Stellar local cast in this lighthearted piece of entertainment. Hunt, who has won literary awards has written and produced over twenty Fringe shows and is the Artistic Director of the Alberni Valley Fringe Theatre Festival.

8. A CRACK IN MY REALTY (Sarah Adams-Gibson’s Landing) is about careening through a mid-life crisis. A songwriter discovers a crack in her reality only to realize she put the wedge there herself a long time ago to � nd her way back.. Told through story and song.

GRIM (Broken Rhythms Dance Company-Vic-toria) Inspired by Grimm’s Fairy tales and the untold story of “ever after,” Broken Rhythms Dance Company presents the acclaimed performance of Grim.  Sleeping Beauty, The Three Bears, and Rumpelstiltskin are just a few of the nine popular tales interpreted through the company’s innovative rhythmic contemporary style. Each dance, a com-plete story in itself, will have audiences questioning what really happened once upon a time.

13. EYE THOUGHTS OF VERSE CITY (Stephen Novik-local) is a one-man poetry presenta-

tion with poems from Novik’s last year of his Bach-elor of Applied Communications in Professional Writing studies. Most poems are about his home-town Edmonton and he still considers himself the “eccentric Edmontonian poet” although he has lived on PA since 2012. Not just for poetry lovers.

14.THE SOUTHPAW Portal Players’ Stages Group. from “Free to Be You

and Me” written by Judith Vorst.This is a story about a girl who wants to play baseball, and a boy that has to accept letting a girl play on his team.

15. CONNECTIONS (Jen Fisher –Bradley-local) Four 21st century women

meeting once a week in a climate pact, an ancient Druid and the Blue Buddha all play their roles in “saving” some acclimatized seeds “until the planet cools down”. Their concern is climate change, their hearts are open, and their bond is strong. They have each other’s back and one or two surprises up their sleeves.

birth of a poem and the backstory, if you will, of how it came to be written.“ Through an open window, late at night, something enters the room. There’s a shadow, a presence felt. I awaken and sit up. Then I consider for a moment… have I awoken to dream?” Come hear how he paid a visit to an unsuspecting poet, and how she had no choice but to � nd a way, to ‘get the word out’.

2.) TAKE FIVE (Theatre Quadra) is a soap-opera farce that takes place during the Canadian sixties. Sharon and Alex are expecting their � rst baby.  Sharon’s sis-ter, Gladys, has � nally found a keeper.  Unfortunate-ly, the boyfriend, Bernard, is more interested in his inventions than he is in proposing.  The sisters concoct a plan to get Gladys married.    The scene is set.  Only two things are for sure:  Mayhem will ensue; laughter keeps the dark away in the twilight zone.
