June 1, 2020 PASSENGER SCREENING (COVID 19 – UPDATE):

To all of all valued customers and extended Ahmic Air family,

There is no one at this time that has not been affected in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to plan for a bright future, and hope to be part of your future, while exercising the protocols necessary to ensure your continued health and safety, the health and safety of our staff, partners, and the general public.

Ahmic Air continues to operate but under restricted circumstances. We are monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak, and we are assessing our activities, policies, and operations in response to this risk. Each potential charter assignment before being accepted will be assessed on a case-by case basis for health risks related to COVID-19.

For the time being we have aligned our initial passenger screening for ALL PASSENGERS & flight crew with the guidelines being used by the Government of the Northwest Territories:

Travelers that have travelled outside the Northwest Territories within the past 14 days, will not be boarded unless they are offering an essential service and have been provided authorization by the GNWT to travel outside of Yellowknife to others sites and communities without first completing a 14 day isolation,

Travelers will be asked to make a declaration of good health; travelers that report as feeling unwell or show any of the following symptoms: Fever, cough, muscle aches, fatigue or shortness of breath, will not be boarded. (www.hss.gov.nt.ca), travelers may have their temperature checked using a no-touch thermometer as part of the screening process,

Supplementary briefing material from the GNWT is to be included with our briefings,

As per the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada, each of our aircraft have been additionally equipped with:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for flight crew and passengers including; disposable gloves, and face masks

Disposable Cleaning Cloths, Paper Towels, Waste disposal bags, labels, and tape, Cleaning Agents (Spray 9), and Appropriate hard-surface disinfectants (10% Bleach Solution, 75% Alcohol Solution)

Each aircraft between assignments (clients) is undergoing a general cleaning and disinfection routine that involves the thorough cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces and items including:

Seatbacks, Windows & Air vents, Seatbelts, Briefing cards, and Any role Equipment being handled by flight crews or passengers (Aviation Headsets, etc.)

As a Passenger: Forgive us for the continued message to practice good hygiene, such as frequent hand-washing, STAY AT HOME IF YOU FEEL ILL, monitor your health closely, Please review the Government of the Northwest Territories “Healthy Respiratory Practices” guide, Stay informed regulations, conditions, and practices are all changing rapidly, The following organization are

The Government of Canada is asking that all travellers have a removable non-medical mask or face covering large enough to cover their mouth and nose during their travel through Canadian airports and in-flight.

Travellers must confirm that they have in their possession the mandatory non-medical mask or face covering as part of the registration or check-in process otherwise they will not be allowed to continue on their journey.

At a minimum, travellers will be asked to wear the non-medical mask or face covering:

✔ at airport screening checkpoints;

✔ during the flight when they cannot physically distance from others, including at all times when they are 2 metres or less from another person, except another occupant of the person’s private home; or

✔ as directed by an official of the air operator, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, a Canada Border Services Agency officer, or a Canadian public health official.

EXCEPTIONSFace coverings must not be worn under the following circumstances:

✘ children under two years old;

✘ passengers with breathing difficulties unrelated to COVID-19;

✘ at the boarding gate, after handing documents to the air carrier representative, a passenger will be asked to step back to an appropriate distance and lower their face covering for identity verification. After the verification is complete, the passenger can then re-cover their mouth and nose before collecting their documents;

✘ during the flight, when the safety of the person could be endangered by wearing a face covering; or when the person is eating, drinking or taking oral medications; and

✘ at the Customs-controlled area of the airport. Travellers will need to lower their face covering to have their photo taken at the Primary Inspection Kiosk or when asked to do so by a Canada Border Services Agency officer or a Public Health Agency of Canada and/or provincial or territorial official.

Wearing a face covering over the mouth and nose is an important additional measure that all travellers can take to protect those around them. Air travellers are encouraged to wear a non-medical mask or face covering whenever possible, especially in situations where physical distancing guidelines cannot be maintained. Refusal to comply with the wearing of a non-medical mask or face covering could result in a fine of $5,000.00. Travellers are also reminded to practice good hygiene by frequently washing their hands and sneezing into their sleeve or a tissue.
